at the moment he just looks like an immature fwd pocket... has some skills and game awareness but looks like a kid amoungst men... so let him develop in the VFL or as a fwd pocket in the seniors? underwhelming at the stage.
tried his guts out, did some tough things, some good things, cut out the undisciplined stuff, but made a few howlers as well. was mixed bag but certainly gave 100% effort.
can't knock a positive hopeful outlook, and yeah, he had a crack, did get a bit of it... he's not terrible, but for me the ceiling just looks too low. good on the kid for being a 1000 x better athlete than i ever was and wearing the yellow and black.
for me his nbr 1 weakness is his defence... related to a lack of speed and tank/two way running (which leads to an inability to chase or run down his opponent, tackle much etc) and hence means getting destroyed by the oppo mids. The lack of size itself is not a killer (eg. Baker is great, Rioli...
people that get bullied and want to feel some sort of power... are usually under 5'10" and have no physical attributes suitable for actually playing the sport themselves.... failed police entrance test, failed parking officer test etc etc
he had 3 kicks 10 minutes into the last qtr and his direct opponents were best on ground by then. he got a few cheap ones in junk time. 1 tackle! 7 kicks and 12 handballs with stuff all effect... and was destroyed by his opposing mids.
maybe not nada... but he sucked...and yeah its bloody tough...
backline still a worry.
Young and Miller not exactly brimming with x factor and untapped potential. Grimes is still the equal of either of them.
The best are still Broad and Vlaus and Rioli... and Short who now seems a bit inconsistent and below his best.
Gibcus was the big hope :(

Dow is just not built nor equipped for it... has never really excelled at any level, no x factor, is small, slight, slow, a bad kick, just ok handball, avg tank, avg at best overhead, no mongrel, no goals, not a ball magnet, nothing implying leadership qualities... and this is after lots of...
