From what I've heard its the opposite. He played against men in the country leagues at a young age and learned how to play smart.

He coaches the players that kick the points. He doesn't delist the ones that seemingly are never upto it. Sorry to pick on you but you seem relentlessly positive when our club needs massive, massive change.

I think most teams who win the Grand Final have overcome some sort of adversity.. Even us in 97, no Modra, Roo. You need some luck yes, but good coaches and teams make their own luck.

The point is, its best to play your toughest game at home in the prelim. As opposed to your toughest game on grand final day @ the MCG.

We probably shouldn't have dropped Vince or Douglas given who we have to replace them. Given that, I'd probably have made Vince a sub for the week he was dropped to SANFL and hoped that gave him the necessary pride dent to lift his game, with out overly punishing the team.

We don't pick players under the right criteria. Years ago Malthouse said he picks his team based on who does well in big games (fortunately Collingwood have a lot of these.) He trades out down hill skiers and those that can't take the pressure while they have currency and rolls the dice again...
