I wouldn't say that at all. But i'm happy for you and everyone else to bag us out, i like being underdogs. I'm very confident my team will be thereabouts, we are 1 - 0 against Geelong, and 1 - 1 against the Pies this year. We have our captain back to his best, and we seem to be running and...
Hey, i said Kosi was disappointing. But some are calling for his head, give him another shot at the Dogs. If he doesn't perform, then i would seriously consider giving him a go for Sandi.
No we won't win a flag without Riewoldt, but that's because he'll be back by round 18 - 19 as long as has has no setbacks. We struggled last night, that is for sure. Kosi definitely did. But on his day he can do some freakish things. Last year he played some very good football, he will find that...
Well they weren't proven, sorry but that's not the point im making. Like i said, it's far different for a player who's going hard at the football for 30 minutes straight, putting everything into the game to slege another opponent, every single player does it. Yet coaches rarely do what Mick...
I wasn't happy with what Roo said that day, yet i think it's unfair to compare him and MM. The players are at it for 120 minutes, giving there all and trying everything to win, every player sledges and i'm sure alot worse has been said then what Riewoldt did that day. But it's far different for...
Just an absurd comment. Goddard is skilled, he can kick a goal. But he is no KPP. Try taking on Geelong, Western Bulldogs or Hawthorn with just Roo and Goddard down there rotating with Mac or Pattison for gods sake and we'd get smashed. He adds another dimension too us, allows Roo to be a little...
I believe the close watching of treatment behind the play was brought about due to umpires finding free kicks for Jonathan Brown either a year or two ago behind the play. My memory is a tad vague but i am fairly sure, since then the umpires have had a close watch on KPP treatment behind the ball.
I really do love it. Sure, on occasions he plays for them. Who the **** doesn't. Get over it, he is a fantastic player and not one person on this forum can deny it if answered with %100 honesty. He took some spectacular marks tonight, he kicked some very good goals. He is a champion, no doubt...
I'd like to see Franklin play with a knee desperately in need of surgery and a torn calf which only happened 3 days before the grand final. Franklin is no where near the level of Brown, Pavlich or Riewoldt just yet, let's see him put more than one great season together first. :thumbsu:
That is crap. I love Brown, he is a fantastic player, best KPP since Carey IMO. He, right now has had a better career then Riewoldt IMO. But i also believe Riewoldt has a bit more in the tank and is probably just hitting his peak over the last year. Riewoldt smashed the Pies in the QF last year...
You misunderstood me. I was meaning he gets highlighted for acting on occasions more than any other player in the AFL. Why aren't we talking about Goodes' starring roles late in the fourth, Gwilt fell beside him and he dived forward and was awarded the free kick. And then later on the side of a...
What about Goodes diving backwards in the dying seconds? What about when he dived forward when Gwilt and i'm not sure of the other player fell next to him? That doesn't seem to get brought up, and one of them was awarded as a free kick yet he wasn't good enough to convert. Alot of forwards do...
I admit Riewoldt acts. But what forward doesn't. Yet Nick is the one that cops it the worst. No Hawks supporter on here that is giving it to Riewoldt would admit Franklin dives, no Carlton player would of admitted Fev dived in yesteryears. Most of the KPP's do it, it's now apart of the game...
Riewoldt is on $800,000 a year. A great price for him. He should be up there with Brown and Judd for sure, yet is saving the Saints a good $300,000. He only signed his contract earlier this year too. That's a sign of a loyal player. Not saying Brown and Judd aren't either but he Roo could of...
Alot of players mentioned have played poor in the finals, yet most like Quinn or Minson, have either no experience in AFL footy, or don't have that great of reputations anyway. When it comes to players under performing compared to there previous H&A form, these players take the cake:
Leon...
Give him a break. It's his third year of AFL football, he will be a very good player. More often then not he has terrific disposal and he did gather n 15 Brownlow votes, i realize it is now midfielder's medal, but you still have to be a good player to do that. So what if he played terrible...
Thankyou to the modest and honest Cats supporters that have said this thread is nothing but hypocritical and just plain shit. We may of lost today Achilles, but we still sit on top of the ladder, where we belong as we have been the most consistent team all year. I am not an arrogant and cocky...
Roo has won us games off his own boot before. It would be shattering if today had of been the GF, yet if we gave him the ball right now and told him to go back again, he would kick it. He'll be jumping out of his skin to redeem himself, thats what great players do, if they fail, they'll make up...
This thread is hilarious. 'Saints premiershop hopes are shattered' ..... 'The real saints are back'. Fact is we have won 19 out of 20. We came from 42 points down late in the third quarter. The match means nothing when it comes to the premiership. I suppose all the ********s who have been...
There are niggles. Do you think that Ross is just going to rest %100 fit players? He isn't. And do you think he would risk players that do have a slight niggle or injury when your only 4 weeks away from the finals series and have have a top 2 spot wrapped up? well he isn't and thats what has...
Of course Lyon has respect for Hawthorn. They are the reigning premiers and have a team full of superstars. He said this during the week. But we have a top 2 spot rapt up, and really should finish 1st. All those players have a little niggle, apart from Riewoldt who had a slight concussion. I am...
Obviously those omissions are all class. Yet i think they have covered for them very well. King and McEvoy will be too strong in the ruck IMO. And that allows Gardiner to play as a permanent full forward along side of Kosi and Gwilt. That will really stretch the inexperienced Hawthorn defense...
Maybe some people can actually give some explanations as it seems as though people are just choosing people they despise. How is Nick Riewoldt overrated? I've seen his name pop up numerous times so far.
Tough call. Because of the standard of football today is producing i would say St Kilda. The pressure and precision skills has lifted so much in 9 years. But in saying that, people are getting ahead of themselves. As a Saints supporter i consider us the second best team in the competition...
I'm fairly positive there was know elbow. Wasn't it just a hip and shoulder that took his legs from underneath him? I agree, it was dangerous, not sure it warrants suspension if a rule were to be introduced for it though.
As already pointed about he kicked 3 goals, had 18 possessions and took 12 marks against Port, how is that little influence when your best on ground? His performance against Sydney was disgusting? he had 21 possessions and took 12 marks on a rainy night, he was inaccurate in front of goal yet he...
He has performed in other finals as well. In 2004 he was St Kilda's best player for the entire finals series. Against Port in the prelim he had 12 marks, 18 possessions and kicked 3 goals. If thats not performing i don't know what is. Against Sydney in the semi he had another 12 marks and 21...
I agree AG. Fev has been way too inconsistent. Brown has kicked more goals then him this season, yet wrackas are alot more disposals and marks and leads from the front instead of sulking to umpires and watching his opponents run off him every match.
