Keep him. He's too good and important o lose for a draft pick.
We'll have already lost so much experience and leadership this year I'd hate to lose Noah as well.
Exactly.
Adding salary in costs draft picks but frees Freo up for future players as well.
There are more moving parts than just a player for picks. I assume given where Freo is now they want to add Shai to supercharge their offence (which he will do), and by rumour are looking for Warner. If...
I was talking about the 'old' rules where the non-NSW/QLD clubs had an academy but couldn't pick their good players. Only the ones ast pick 40. It was poorly phrased. But if they did the same thing to he NSW/QLD academies then investment would stop.
I guess I really was talking about how the...
The Tigers definitely didn't bring through the young guys towards the end of Dimma's reign.
The Cats have done a great job of staying there or thereabouts. The question is really whether you are being held up by a couple of super players, and will drop without them. Or can the Cats rebuild...
Absolutely spot on.
If the Hopper/Taranto trade was 2 years earlier the tigers might have another premiership. Somehow the club didn't think that the players had gotten older and with some bad luck (Dusty injury), and rule changes that stuffed the tigers game plan the trade created a good...
Mostly down back. Few times forward where he did well.
Basically to me he was the elite athletic and football tall talent of his year, so he could do it all against the young guys. He has great footy nouse so does really well at intercept marking and quarterback style kicking. Not sure how...
It'll be interesting to see if we play Gibcus forward. We've got a lot of tall backs. So we can afford to try him forward. He has all the tools. But after 2 years of crap ...
I so hope he can stay fit, so much talent.
Glory days. great story 2016.
I thought Spurs had that one. then they bottled it - again. Could have a couple fo premierships in the last decade if the culture was right. Hopefully Ange can sort it out a bit. But the fish rots from the head. Focus is on money, rather than titles.
Exactly right.
We have a once in forever opportunity to bring in a heap of top 20 players (an dthis year top 30 is top 20 worthy apparently). We still have 1/2 of a premiership team with a heap of leadership. Winning games ain't the goal. Developing our new players it the goal. If we get this...
As a Tottenham fan, that hits a sore spot. F me. One of the richest clubs in the world, and they mostly try to make Europe each year and not win anything. Go Ange!
Don't know. We might have a few good ones coming through in the next few years though. Here's hoping we end up getting something from Father son and Academies.
Lovely country to visit. But yeah, the French know they are the world's elite and f the rest.
However, last year I was cycle touring there and going up the Atlantic coast around La Rochelle and I started seeing yellow and black everywhere. Turns out the local rugby team (Rugby union rules...
There'll be a gentleman's agreement. Should mean we hand over less to get their pick and they have to pay less.
Then we hope it all comes back around and we get them to do us a favour.
But most French the early mediaeval English adopted was Norman french. Which was apparently quite different to 'normal' french. So there are layers of complexity on top of your erudite and informing explanation.
And bloody snobby english speakers doing stupid things using latin in so true...
All I meant was that the way the non QLD/NSW academies were structured there was no point in doing anything serious about it. Now you can get the good kids there may be a point. Some serious professional help for indigenous and whatever non-traditional background means kids will help. But then...
I suspect he'll be good. Supposed to be smart and is a great connector to the players. When he took over after Dimma he just kept doing the same old things. If he's learnt from that and has ideas of his own then possibly a good pick up.
That Baker and Graham want to go across now he is at WC...
Another view. We can trade picks past 20 for first rounders next year. So if we are taking, say, 7 picks this year. We should be able to get 2 or 3 first rounders next year. Hopefully a team, or 2, drops off and we get another top 10 pick. In fact if things really go our way we might get 4 or 5...
He does a lot of the grunt work to ensure that a midfield is defensively sound and gets from spot to spot to provide that outnumber and option.
To me what that says is that JGTI will bring that to the WC midfield, which doesn't have players doing that hard work.
Or in other words WC see...
