Seems like it was pretty smooth today. Logged in 15 mins before 9am for MCC reserved seats. Had to wait something like 10mins after 9am to get in, but once in, there were still front row seats on level 2. I believe all MCC reserved seats are now taken.

Been looking forward to this game since the fixture came out. Only my second Geelong game for the year (saw them in Brissy) but boy it’s not looking great weather wise.

The players look so void of confidence. Getting in each other’s way is a sign they aren’t spreading and backing their team mates. The 7-0 start flattened us.

Personally I’ve been a big fan of the slot for many years. Never understood why it used to get a sub-par game. It’s a good slot to attend or watch at home. Preliminary Finals in the slot have been huge. I’m keen for Geelong to request more. Also, good for families when night games are too late.

Does anyone know what the breakdown is for Geelong members based in Geelong versus Melbourne? I’m sure there would be a lot, even out here in the North-East there’s quite a few including myself.

As a neutral at the MCG yesterday, it was an entertaining game because it was close. Not sure it ranks up there with the greatest though.

The difference next year will be the rest of the comp will have had another preseason to pull apart Collingwood’s game plan(s).

I’m sick of this ‘crowd maximisation’ argument being compared to home ground advantage. In no other sport in the world is ‘crowd maximisation’ even a thing. Play the game in Geelong in front of 40k Geelong supporters and let Hawk supporters watch it on TV.

First time I’ve seen this - if your kids have a Geelong membership and you’re an MCC member, you can take them into the members for Geelong home games at no additional charge. SEN was good for the “2 Cats supporters“ aspect, but even SEN was rather subdued once the game was won. Nothing like the last quarter in the 2009 GF when the KRock commentators were out and out barracking for Geelong. Lol.

I’ve got a copy of the GF with the seven different audio streams imbedded. Working my way through each of them. It’s unfortunate that Geelong were so dominant from an early part of the game, as all the calls are pretty flat after the first 10mins. Especially from neutral commentators.

How strict are they on GF day? I only got Full MCC this year. I’ve never been asked to show my MCC card since they went photo ID at any other game. Having said that, there‘s no way I was giving my MCC card to anyone, even a family member for the GF, in case they checked as I can’t make it.

He kicked the first goal in the 2018 PF too. So I backed him for 1st goal in the granny that year too. Easy money in the end.
