    Preview Round 11, 2024 : Hawks v Lions, 1:10pm Sunday 26th May, Marvel

If Sicily is good to go time to be brave and bold and provide our mids with some serious targets up forward. Scrimshaw comes into defence…keep Philips in for structure at CHB which allows scrimshaw to intercept. I’d Play Sicily forward to ease some pressure off Dear. And structure up so at all...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn, Changkuoth Jiath - 2017 category B rookie

Might be a chance for the seniors if we don’t challenge Scrimshaws ban

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 37, Henry Hustwaite - Debuts against the Dees!

Should Come straight back in next week Far too good for VFL. He is the future. Need his talent and Skill in the middle

    Preview Round 7, 2024 : Hawks v Swans, 4pm Sunday 28th April, MCG

Does Day play on reduced minutes in the midfield or ease him in through the backline for a couple of weeks until he is match fit?

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

Bear in mind that he is also spending a high percentage of the game at Box hill in the Ruck both in the centre square and around the ground. Makes kicking 4 goals even more impressive Lucky he was ‘Injured’ and couldn’t attend the draft combine ;)

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

With how Raw he is / was last year I was in the ‘keep him at Box hill all year to develop’ camp. With the way he is playing though….He will definitely be making his debut this year

Where are they now (delistings / retirements since 2005)

Anyone know if Paul Puopolo is currently playing football anywhere in Adelaide? I know he played for Norwood for a couple of year however I don’t believe he is this year. Having recently moved to Adelaide it would be nice to go and watch him carve it up in the Ammo’s somewhere

    Hardwick as a forward 2024

It’s actually an extremely logical post Players eventually slow down. Breust is on the wrong side of 30 and it’s very likely his body won’t hold up to allow him to have a season like he did last year. We have also just recruited 2 small forwards (Wiz / Ginivan) who play a similar style to...

    Hardwick as a forward 2024

Would Prefer to play Hardwick forward then Bruest. He offers something our other small forwards don’t.

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn, Denver Grainger-Barras

I still have high hopes for Denver. He is still only 21 (22 in 2 weeks). Replaces Sicily in 3-4yrs time

Player Watch Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 23, Sam Butler

2yrs ago on Fox footy David King was big on him and said he is a Zac Butters clone. Time to start giving him more minutes up the ground at Box Hill. Has had the pre season….now has the tank and is injury free. Let’s see if this kid has it

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Calsher Dear!

To think where he was 12 months ago (barely being picked for Sandy u/18s) to kicking 8 goals in the last 3 VFL games (1 being a practice game) is the most impressive part. Looks to have the physical traits to make it at the top level. Let’s not throw him into the deep end yet however it looks...

Autopsy Round 2, 2024: Hawks go to hell

Ginnivan and the Wiz the two positives so far. The next 10hrs are going to be very exciting watching these two terrorising the opposition. With Day out it’s the perfect opportunity to give Hustwaite 5 games straight to get a feel for it. No benefit at all in playing Finn. Offers nothing...

Autopsy Round 1, 2024: Hawks fail against Bombers

I don’t understand the decision to play Finn as sub. He isn’t an impact player. To play your second best endurance athlete as sub on a warm 29deg day just defies logic. It’s either best 22 or at Box Hill.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn: Pick 37, Henry Hustwaite - Debuts against the Dees!

Won’t be long before he is best 22. Is starting to fill out nicely. Small sample size however no doubt he is a 200+ gamer in my mind

List Mgmt. Hawk's List Management 2024

I think Worpels 2yr extension last year was perfect for both parties. End of next year I can see Hustwaite / MacDonald / MacKenzie / Ward pushing ahead of Worpel in the inside mid pecking order with which a first round compensation pick could come in handy to help fill list weaknesses (key...

Training 2024 Preseason reports and discussion

As Disappointing as losing Blanck is it isn’t going to define our season. At this stage Blanck was on par with Frost in a pure defensive negating role however was most likely in the side for having more upside / being part of our next finals tilt. So worst case it robs us of 12 extra months of...

Unofficial Preview Round 1, 2024: Bombers v Hawks, MCG 1:10pm Sat 16th March

Our forward line has been kind of non existent the past few years. Im more than happy to have Gunston back as a spare to come in for 10-13 games when injuries hit so we can still manage to kick a winnable score

Player Watch 2023 AFL Draft Pool Discussion Thread

Been torn on our first pick for a while. As much as Curtin would be great and McKercher would be a gun I can’t stop seeing visions of RD1 Reeves winning it in the centre tapping it down to Duke who gives the don’t argue to Pendlebury who turn handballs it to Day who boms it into the 50 to where...

Player Watch 2023 AFL Draft Pool Discussion Thread

Quite a few WA boys in that 15-25 range. Can only see us gaining access to pick one if Eagles wanted to do an Adelaide style rebuild and start by selecting local talent only which would mean they would be wanting more picks in that 15-25 range.
