We are a dead set certainty to come last next year, offer Reid 2.2m a year over 10 years, walk him to the PSD and keep picks 1 & 3 sounds the better option.
Murphy's law is Fawcett and Lefau really come on this year and prove good AFL players and there's no room for the guys we drafted.
Not the worst problem to have I suppose.
Yeah this feels a bit like the faull Aromstong picks. I was hoping we picked him at 28, so slight disappointed with Sims, but then we get him at 58 and both picks seem like a win.
I reckon we can get one of Bombers F1’s and their pick 43 for 28. They still have 37 & 39 so not giving up as much by losing 43. Surely they are super keen on Shannahan might have had him on their board early teens.
Don’t mind if it’s theirs or Dee’s F1, would even allow them to pick which one...
My feeling for what its worth that will actually happen
1. Lalor
6. FOS
10. Lindsay
11. trade with Port for 13 and 29
13. J. Whitlock
18. Hotton
20. M. Whitlock
23. trade Ess for Dees F1
24. Trade Geelong for F1
29. Alger/trainor
FWIW I'd rather just trade 1 for F1 and take Hannaford/Alger and...
For me this would be an amazing result with the great spread in differing types. I would take Hannaford ahead of Alger would be the only change. To get Smillie and Traior who were touted 1 & 2 end of July is an excellent result.
Melb picks 5 & 9 I'd possibly do, then trade pick 11 for North's F1, basically a 1 pick downgrade next year for picks 5 & 9 this year, lol. Can't see Dees doing that deal as they have traded into this draft.
In all likelihood we wouldn't get fair value given the quality of player at pick 1 next...
I agree, I think Lalor, Smillie and Lindsay gives us a great diversity in the type of players, and 3 guys with great footskills. We most likely will add Sharp again next year and that gives us a great blend.
Use the rest of the picks on classy forwards, 2 KP's and a rebounding defender and the...
How many pure mids do you think we need?
I'd like us to take a Hotton and Hannaford type in this draft, 2KP's and rebounding defender with a great leg.
We'll likely get an A grade mid first pick next year.
Already have Taranto and Hopper on the list next 6 years. I know teams run 7-8 players...
I think we’ll see a lot of improvement from the young guys on the list. We had a very strong senior group that was hard to penetrate and I assume would have been quite intimidating for a lot of the younger players. I reckon that will be gone this year and you’ll see a lot more ownership.
We may...
Yeah well if the rumors are true re Jack Whitlock then we’d be mad not to do that trade. He will still be there at 13 and gives us the option to trade out 23 and 24 for F1’s and still get a target later on and draft 7 this year.
You keep posting as if there’s no opportunity cost to trading up to 2. What if we have Smillie at 3 on our board and think it’s almost certain we get him at 6? Would we trade 3 and 18 for 2? Technically we are trading pick 6 but if the player we would get at 6 is rated higher by us then we are...
Don't trade with North for 2, force them to take Tauru there, they literally have no other options to trade down with. If they have to take Tauru there then one of FOS, Smith, Draper or Langford is there at 6, thats assuming we take Lalor first pick. This also assumes that Dees don't take...
