This has probably been asked - but why didn't any player refer to the player association when asked to sign a waiver form? I understand they're young and all - but surely this matter was mentioned to a parent or manager -and from there that you'd expect someone to raise alarm bells.
Maybe turn...
Correct me if I'm wrong:
Sydney (or any club) could offer Tippet or any other player out of contract a huge amount (for argument sake say $5 mil a season) - and then offer the player's club pick over 200 in return.
The salary cap and good faith/ negotiator reputation prevent this happening...
Happy to see this go to the PSD - and take our extra cap away that won't be used. We don't need this advantage or Tippett. Play hardball AFC. Would rather Swans be beyond criticism following future successes.
I like to see him on the wing - if there's a couple of capable marking forwards to go to - speed and kick length will really hurt the opposition once he and the team get settled in the role.
White's probably at best a depth KP player now. Does some remarkable things - not just marks but at ground level too - but in between can be nothing, especially against good defenders. I hope he makes it to a first pick player but based on the last few years it's hard to see.
Shame to see Walsh out - I think he looks the best option as a second forward target. Just needs confidence from game time.
Wish they'd try out Grundy forward though - he's a great defender yes and would leave a hole but we have a few now and still don't have a dangerous second forward target...
Looks like only the final match - 'no practice matches - strange decision given the channel needs up to date content to 'analyse' for the next week or so to entertain viewers and attract new ones.
I'm sure i saw somewhere earlier in the piece that they'd be broadcasting some of the other R4...
Re: Questions that don't warrant a thread thread
Has anyone heard the Fox broadcast schedule for NAB round 4? What games are on apart from the final? Thanks in advance for any info.
Fletcher has been excellent this year when able to play as the 3rd or 4th defender in the backline when he can zone off, read the play and double team opponents, but when he's the number one tall defender and exposed to the amount of ball from Carlton's midfield he was today he wouldn't be the...
Hawks will be very hard to beat - did not finish above us on the table because of luck. Thier kicking skills can cut up our game plan - thier young guys are quality - our pressue will need to be in overdrive the whole game to stay with them. We can win - but quite a few factors will need to go...
The director may have been used to doing rugby league or union (or tennis). Did not seem to have a feel for what to play show from the best angles or right distance. Not to mention chopping and changing back and forth during the action.
At this stage of the season, and given our proven standing (lack of) against better teams, I'd rather see our team of the future lose in an exciting game than our team of the past win ugly. Never thought I'd say this:(
The stars should align for Currie to debut this week. Can ruck a whole game if required, will help fix our forward structure if Mumford firing, and Richmond have a young ruckmen.
As players age, they will lose their weapons (e.g., Judd's' clearance speed/ strength). This must be very frustrating, compounded by a perceived responsibility to lead the team. They lash out in frustration. Smart players accept this and adapt - and still be valuable contributors - he needs to...
Geelong then daylight. But things are not so uneven that a dark night won't descend GF day.
The difference is Geelong can beat wannabees even when they're (i.e., Geelong) out of form or have injuries. Other teams need to be in form finals time and have others factors like best players available...
My guess is that he'll take two seasons to be a consistent contributor. By then he'll be sick of not being a star and head back to rugby or NRL .. ' they just didn't appreciate me!'
We tend to stay with the same game style wet or dry. If it's a super sopper then i hope we just get it forward with long kicks and scramble from there rather than trying the run and carry. Mumford will be critical in the ruck.
