Tall poppy syndrome is alive and well. Most leagues have it - including the afl.

What is this? Maybe you should just say well done and move on.

I remember Nth City when they started in the Bendigo league - from basket case to power house - it's a good effort to get where they have.

Darley were unlucky with a goal after the siren. What would the standard of the CHFL be like compared with the BFL? How would a team like Nth City be recieved?

Yeah it must to tough for the Eastern bloc teams being mentally beat before the season starts. I just hope that 1st flag is not too far a way. Hang on: 4 Eastern bloc teams = 8 flags 7 Ballarat teams = 9 flags Also would look a lot different if the Ballarat Umps were not so trigger happy...

Melton South now having a look to make a move away from the BalFL. http://www.melton.starweekly.com.au/story/1802493/ballarat-fl-melton-south-considers-its-future-in-league/ All the Eastern Bloc teams might have a big decision to make shortly.

Sunbury on the move!! The Ballarat FNL would like to advise all member Clubs that on Wednesday 14th May we were advised by the Sunbury FNC that their Club is conducting an investigation into the future of their club. The aim if this investigation is to identify affiliation in which AFL...

LOL - you kicked this all off with a comment last year.

Fair enough. Money may have played a part in some leaving. The cheep article was fairly damming. You don't see an article like that very often. Interesting year coming up. Obviously you are not from Doutta Stars - they are the big winners out if this.

We must move in different circles. I was told this would happen the day he signed at Sunbury.

So you heard this from a guy that knows a guy that is having trouble turning on a computer? Sounds reliable to me. Which Edfl side are you involved with? Not an Abers fan?

So you recruit for Sunbury and a Div 1 Essendon DFL team at the same time? So firstly I am calling bullshit on your role at the football club - you do know you can look at someone's posting history? I can only comment on the players that directly told me they left for one reason. Some of those...

Ok help me with the maths. $80,000 in player payment walked out. If 80k walks out shouldn't you have 80k to spend on bringing in new players? He could have a ten year contract and my tip is Sunbury will have a new coach in 2015.
  16. Wild Bill

    BFL Thread

It could be good for the league. With 11 of the 17 flags won by either Sunbury or Redan it may open the door to a team to step up and challenge for it. I would not think Sunbury would be down for too long. Does anyone know in the 17 years since joining the BFL how many times have Sunbury...

Big trouble at the Lions. Picked up 1 on baller and not much else. Massive chance to see Sunbury miss finals this year. Budgetary constraints due to over spending the last 2 years and not organising sponsors. If Horwood is Sunbury's coach in 2015 it will be a miracle of biblical proportions.

I think you will find he won't play many games - VFL and RDFL are played mainly on Sat afternoon. I don't think they would mind him playing for his brother a couple of times a year. He gave great service after all.

And Sunbury can get players jobs as well.

    Ballarat FL 2012

Tucky - name another 2 on $1,000 a game in the Rdfl? The gap in $$$ is massive and it would cost Riddell a lot of money to bridge the 15 goal gap on Sunbury.
  21. Wild Bill

    Ballarat FL 2012

Sunbury would find the money if they really wanted the player and it came down to dollars. Other factors may get them to leave. Cariss has taken a pay cut to get play at Riddell as they could not match Sunburys offer. With cheep Clarke lobb etc also leaving they could triple rupos best offer for...

Rdfl clubs have great player payments than 100k? Which clubs?
  23. Wild Bill

    Ballarat FL 2012

If it came down to money and a bidding war between Sunbury and an RDFL club it would not even be a contest. Sunbury Lions get more just from the Pokies than the highest paying RDFL club entire player payments. They would have muliple players over $1,000 a game.

14 of Sunbury's starting 22 have walked out on the club. We have a spin merchant come on here and make up reasons why they have left. He has either made things up, guessed or spoken to the wrong people. End of the day we can bump that post and prove it to be incorrect when the football season...

I think you are putting the spin on. How do you know what they are getting paid? You think an RDFL club could compete with Sunbury? S Lobb is playing in 2014. Who are the rest that are staying? Clarke, Cheep, Slight, Carriss, Short, McGovern, Monzell, S Lobb, J Lobb, Cuinik, O'Connor...

Yep but they have a lot of work to do. Maybe they may look at the Rdfl to top up. You would think he would have some players that may follow him and he would know which players could cut it at a higher level.
