I don’t doubt he’s not having a go but his kicking is downright careless. He needs to put more onus on retaining the ball.
Even when LDU and Thomas were there he was still hacking it.
Just because he’s getting midfield time doesn’t mean he’s going okay.
Then again we get a few boys back and the pressure comes off but it’s still no excuse for not retaining the ball.

He’s probably just knackerd.

His kicking or placement of his kicks still has room for improvement.

His ball work is elite especially when using his vision.

Was a man possessed in that 3rd quarter. Melbournesque if I dare say it.
That surge mentality that the top teams demonstrate. He was leading it with JHF.
His kicking inside 50 is still a concern as is his snaps at goals. Bit to work on but cant fault his 2nd half display.

Let this be the turning and making of his year!

I understand the hack kicking concern, but he continues to put up numbers.

Need him to continue to lead this midfield for 10 years. Whoever said trade him should be removed from this site.
Tend to agree, harshly judged. I think it is a technique thing and suspect he will always be somewhat hit and miss but putting up that level of effort is what you can build a team around long term because teams simply won't be able to just ignore him.

His kicking seems to have only gone to crap after that ankle in 2020 I think it was? Or maybe it's a fatigue thing? Before that all I could remember of him was that he was a really really neat kick who just didn't get the ball enough.

He's a lot better with LDU in the side. Allows Luke to be the inside bull & feed it to Jy moving.
Or vice versa. The synergy of these guys and JHF when reading the tap and releasing each other is becoming truly textbook.

It is even better when Thomas and Stephenson are pushing hard from the wing/HF to be that third, running release to launch into the forward fifty.

It has already payed off numerous times so far this year. We are just let down by only having one marking target inside 50.

Ziebell leading well and opening up space for Larkey helps, but we need to be adding another KPF in there who knows how to lead and crash a pack.

Without this, the silver service our mids provide is going to waste. HF is our biggest need. Adding Ford to lead up to the centre square and run back into the 50 helps, but we need a proper 2nd tall target.

Based on comments from some of the young boys Jy sets the standard on the training track, so I reckon he might be trying too hard (if there is such a thing).
With more midfielders of quality in there it makes the load less for Jy.
He wants to show the way and unfortunately you can’t do it all.

But we could get a second rounder. We don't have one of them this year.
