Tricks yes, side stepping yes, has he improved his ability kicking outside 35-40? If I remember correctly, that was quite an awkward distance for him in his forward half early days.

Seeing as he kills the time trials- would the wing be suitable?

I don't think they're trialling him as a winger. He's kicked quite a few gals from that range in the last couple of years, so I don't see that as a problem.

I remember running goals last year against Gold Coast, Fremantle, Adelaide. I remember at least one good set shot against Sydney. Last year's stats show 9.4. Don't think it's an issue

All I know and care about is that he is and always will be better than Florent.
Why is that so important? Outrageous call.

Anyway, I’m back after a bit of hiccup. Had a couple of blocked coronary arteries but I popped a couple of aspirin just to flush them out. Now I feel brand new. Been given a green bill of health by the medicos which means I can now finally apply to NASA for my dream job as an astronaut. I have my fork lift licence and RSA certificate which you’d imagine would hold me in good step.

Watch this space. No pun intended.

He's actually not a bad kick from further out. Even running inside 50 he's normally reliable. He'll have the odd shot when he should give it off but that's every player.

On the run and at the 50m he's a very solid kick at goal. He's more suspect on the 25-30 placement kick. I think he will be fine and damaging floating forward. Fit as **** and can become a go anywhere type as more physical players move into the midfield and he approaches the second half of his career.

At 50m? Doesn't he max out at 45m?

Called. A. Joke….

his role is really interesting this year. Looks super creative and dangerous as a half forward but he's still absolutely our 2nd best mid.

what's working against him from a midfield perspective though is that of all our centre square mids - LDU, wardlaw, powell, phill - he's by far the best forward of the group and thus best suited to the role that Clarko and the coaching staff want in terms of the half forward pushing up to be an extra around the ball

so although he's not playing in his preferred position, he's playing a role that's clearly important structurally and to which he is clearly best suited of every player in the squad, with laz emerging as an obvious backup.
