When you played Arsenal in the FA Cup last time.

/end Cruyff mode :)
We got a good draw at the Emirates before our second string championship side couldn't beat them at home.

Did he get many minutes?

Think he came on around 60, we went up 2-0 just after HT so I think they threw everything at us.

Disappointing lack of Liverpool v Spurs melts in here.

Fairly cruisy game for us, good to see Jenko get through the 90 and Giroud get some minutes. Ox has now scored more goals in one season for Arsenal (5) than he has before, and it's only October :thumbsu:

Spurs have bigger fish to fry in the Champions League.

If we lost you'd see some melts.

is there a more meaningless cup competition in world football?
I've always said that with the FA Cup around, the league cup is a bit pointless.

Still though with no Europe this season I'm not complaining.

They may do but Spurs tend to burn those bigger fish when they try to fry them.

They might be best served learning how to cook first in the league cup.

We'll leave the League Cup to the minnow clubs not playing in Europe. It causes too much fixture congestion for the big clubs

You could start a salt mine with all the salt in this post.
Sorry to appear salty, not my intention. Congratulations for beating our under 11's, but you know you'll only bum it up in the final like Klopp always does. As long as it's not to Arsenal I'll be happy

Our U10s beat your U11s though.

Geordies belting Preston. NUFC Tiger the Rafalution continues :)

Couldn't believe it. Woke up with the score at 2-0 and just kept shaking my head as we racked up more goals.

We even played a heavily rotated squad which makes it more exciting.

49,042 official attendance too - believe that's our second largest highest ever attendance for a League Cup fixture!

Just got to hope to avoid your boys on one of the other big clubs in the next round! ;)

In a rich vein of form that's for sure. We were probably lucky to have drawn a fellow championship side though, main difference between us and the rest of that league is that our second XI would finish well up the table as well.

I was a bit worried myself before the game as Preston were in good form themselves - this month alone, they have beaten Villa (who we couldn't), drew away to second place Brighton, beat Huddersfield and then knocked off Norwich away on the weekend.

Fun fact: Newcastle goals tonight = 6
Sunderland goals for the season = 6 :p
