Braeden Campbell
Braeden Campbell was drafted with the fifth overall pick of the 2020 AFL Draft and has enjoyed an exciting start to life as a Swan. Recruited from Pennant Hills Demons, Campbell is revered for his brilliant versatility and exceptional left-foot kick. He made his AFL debut in Round 1 of the 2021 season and was voted as the Round 2 NAB Rising Star nominee after recording 25 disposals and six marks against the Adelaide Crows. The 21-year-old has improved year on year missing just one match in 2023 and set several career-best performances in the process.
Pick 5

On the telecast at halftime he seemed to be with the defenders group. I assume McInerney was with the mids.

So currently Blakey and Campbell could be our attacking half back flankers. Possibly Mcinerney, Florent and Gulden our wingers.
Lloyd will have to sit it out in the VFL 😂.

Seriously though, I know everyone bangs on about Campbell's kicking but a couple of times tonight I nearly blew my load when he kicked that ball...

I like McInerney in the centre. Because with the McCartins, McDonald and McLean, it makes a McSpine.

Time to get Campbell into the middle. His foot skills are a waste down there
Who would you replace him with?

If Campbell goes to the middle how do we shuffle backline, which I still think is our weakest part of the team.

The most impressive thing so far about Campbell is how well he has adapted. He was thrown in the deep end as a defender and let's face it, he was horrible as a pure defender. He had no idea what to do. Fast forward 12 months and he is doing very good job, he is impacting contests and has even mastered when to leave his man to win the footy.

He is a seriously fast learner and he will excel at any role in the afl

There was a play in the first quarter where he left his man and won the 2v1 contest. It was incredibly impressive.

He's gone from a kid learning to the game to net positive influence. He will only go from strength to strength from here

and, like mcinerney, warner et al, he's a very tough kid, no backward steps
