India will be very disappointed considering they should’ve had us all out for less than 50… to only have a lead of 46 after the way they bowled yesterday, they’ve left a lot out there.

Yeah all things considered there wasn’t really a lot to gain by keeping them out there for an extra 20-30 mins when lunch would be taken straight after in any case.

Nuisance factor and a whittled down deficit still achieved and the lads get to put their feet up for 40 mins before they hopefully hit the ground running with ball in hand.

Yep a 46 run lead in this game is still significant, probably worth 150+ in a typical test match.

We barely made 100 collectively. Let’s say that was an anomoly though and we should have been able to get 200. Normally harder to bat in the second innings chasing down a score so I’ll run with 175 lead to chase is possible.

The only positive I can see atm is that this game is so far forward.... its not going to last the full 5 days...so the pitch is not going to break down ...so if we are going to chase the conditions should be okay

yeah I agree...but as I said before might be a good thing for our batting lineup to actually bat and make some runs in a chase and win

Yep if anything it looked easier and easier to bat as the innings wore on. Ideally we’re back in by around lunch tomorrow as cracks could be a factor on day 4 onwards.

Anyone else reckon Khawaja was a little bit selfish early on in the innings? Every time he got on strike, he immediately turned it back over to McSweeney.

I know top-order Test batsmen shouldn't need "protection", but if you're the highly experienced opener you might consider soaking up a few balls in the early overs to help the new guy settle in.

Get your point but the last thing this team needs is more dot balls.
