Due to the 18-19 India tour of Australia, there were a series of rumours that India had figured out a method to beat Hotspot, and they reviewed every fine edge all series.
There were a series of prominent DRS overturns in that series with a lack of hotspot despite the clear snicko.
Since then, it's very quietly been left off the DRS packages worldwide.

"Contrary to Anil Kumble’s claims of HotSpot being a military technology, one broadcaster recently explained why the BCCI does not employ it in their system. As reported by The Indian Express, the broadcaster informed that the daily HotSpot operating costs are extremely expensive and the system is also not 100 percent accurate. Most of the worldwide broadcasters have also stopped using the technology for the same reason, including England’s Sky Sports and South Africa’s SuperSports network.

Does anyone know what noise suppression there is with snicko? The mics never pick up things like spikes scraping and things like that.

Yep, I lost a bit of respect for Gavaskar after that. One of the most ridiculous things I've seen on the Test arena.

There looks like there was a gap between the ball and the bat on the replay, I don't think there was enough evidence to overturn.
I still don't trust the technology when it comes to line ball calls like that one, I trust the Kettlebot more as well as the batsman.
