2008 FanFooty DT/SC Fanplanner

First off, welcome to another year of fantasy AFL footy! This year's going to be awesome, I can feel it.

I've updated our databases and opened up our Fanplanner feature, which you might remember we started last year for those of you who are gagging to start planning for your Dream Team and Super Coach squads. I know I am!

The system should be pretty self-explanatory, you pick each player one by one but you can't go over the salary cap limit of whichever comp you've chosen.

We've made as good an estimate as we can about the prices of each player for the 2008 season, echoing as much as possible VirtualSports' behaviour. The only things we don't know are what this year's "magic number" is going to be (i.e. how hard VS decide to make it by boosting or discounting prices across the board), and which of the players who played 11 games or less last year will have their price arbitrarily discounted, of which there seems to be about half a dozen or so each year with no rhyme or reason. We have used last year's magic number, and haven't guessed at which players will be discounted.

I think it's pretty much a lock for 2007 Finals DT positions to carry over for 2008. I'd be very surprised if VS went back on any of those changes.

I had Hurn as a centre, though on second check I note that he's a centre and a back, so that's been changed. Daniher I put in the forwards.

Also some of the prices are inaccurate for SC. John Brown will be closer to $650,000 than $482,500.
