Hope Neates stays healthy and try and draft a gem. Gaff/Darling/Shuey/NN will all develop in leaps and bounds next year. I'm fine with this 22. Masten out Rosa in this is our best 22 today. Just develop and grow.

It's obvious that the 22 out there against Geelong today won't take us to a flag next year. Our team however has done remarkably well to get to a Preliminary Final after coming 16th in 2010 but to go one step further we need to:
* Find another Tallish defender who can use the ball efficiently and can body out an opponent
* A couple of running midfielders, it'll be hard to get elite youngsters via the draft though, searching the state comps would be the best option.
* Another key defender, Glass hasn't got long left and we don't have a successor to partner MacKenzie
Tradeable options:
Mitch Brown - Has run his race at West Coast, would be worth trading for a pick in the 20's or a W.A player who wants to come home
Chris Masten - I thought he finished the season very strongly but could be worth something at the trade table

Don't drop Smith for plodders like Waters and Butler. Provide near zero drive from defensive, too slow for small forwards and today have been selfish in defense.

Nah keep Masten and Brown need the cover we lacked big game experience and got found out. We are a year or two years ahead of expectations need our midfield to get more experience forward line will improve over time. May be another mid to develop I do agree about key defenders what we would do for a Scarlett type.
A skillful midfielder or two.

Need a small forward. Nicoski might of had a flukey year. Masten has shown promise in the midfield so unless we're getting O'Meara or someone else with that quality don't trade him.

Nicoski is the lock down forward, who also IMO got a lot of goals from Ruck contests in the F50 and has a good season regardless of having a tough day today. Seperate sort of spot to a pure crumber that the opposition has to be on gaurd for.

In the end the problems that we had today where largely structural, Woosha asked the wrong players to do the right thing. Embley, Waters, A.Selwood aren't going to be good enough to take us too a flag.
We need improvement within the group and we need players like Strijk come from within put squad to best 22 status.

If we do retain Masten he will need to step up in a big way next year, as with Brad Sheppard, he will be the run out of the back line, and a small forward

If Weedon becomes that forward we need, and any of Masten/Swift/Stevens becomes that midfielder we need, we don't need shit. Unfortunately that's not a high percentage shot.
