Scott Pendlebury - 21 D (11K, 10HB), 71.4% DE, 3 CL, 3 TKL, 1 1%er

Daniel Howe - 26 D (13K, 13HB), 88.5% DE, 8 CL, 8 TKL, 5 1%er

Stopping Sloane was one thing. Stopping Pendlebury AND getting his own is on another level.

As an admitted Howe 'doubter', I really hope he can build off these last 2 games and really grab these midfield minutes by the balls.
Yeah, have to say I was sceptical he could hold his own against pendles but there you go. I was more than happy to be proved wrong

The kid had huge raps on him from the playing group. He is i think playing in the righ position now. Its up to him to keep inproving his output and consistency. He wont be busting packs open with his pace. But there is more to football than that

Seriously baffles me how many supporters couldn't/can't see how this kid will be a real player for us in the future. He has a really good footy brain and it's starting to show out there. 200+ gamer for Hawthorn I have no doubts. Love the kid.

Did OK to chase down Cameron in Adelaide about 10 days ago.

Was introduced/protected at the start playing as a HBF but the move into his rightful position in midfield has seen him grow a little. Promising signs. Can't wait to see him continue to develop. Club rates him very highly internally and he's an excellent worker, won the pre-season award for best trainer.

With Howe and Burton's eventually move into midfield, we finally have our big-bodied midfielders that supporters were clamouring for a few years back.

Howe's always had potential. I think currently though he is benefiting from the experience of letting the opponent's best mid take him to where he needs to be in the contest.
Disagree. He was always able to get to the contest, but he hadn't adjusted to the pace of the game. That comes with experience, which he is now getting.

He was terrific. Giving him an extended run as a tagger on the game's best players could prove the making of him. Who does he get next week - Kelly?
May as well get crazy & run him with Dylan Shiel

One thing I find fascinating is the idea of when Clarko and the coaching staff think it's time to shift someone away from a development area and into their rightful spot.

Howe' s role in defence seems to be almost a distant memory atm which I love.

Toby had a few down back their for a while.

I just wonder what the catalyst is/will be for others like Burton, Sicily etc.

Assuming Siciliy will be a fwd and Burton a mid eventually do we think it's based on anything concrete or just the ebbs and flows of the game ie. spot opening up, need etc.?

Like the 'smart disposal' comment... particularly since when he was drafted, he came second in the kicking test at the AFL combine.

Would like to echo this. We've all loved watching him in the run-with role the last couple of weeks but by far and away the most underrated part of his game is his kicking. Yes he's able to flick out quick hand passes around the ground at the contest but if you watch him closely, he rarely misses a target by foot.

been really impressed the last couple of weeks. Been set challenges and has thrived. Looks like he has finally found his feet and his improvement over the last month has been great. Great size for a midfielder, and quick enough to find space and close it down as well. Good signs for the young fella

Howe good does The Future look? ;)
Like this, but with Hawthorn premiership posters everywhere.

Love how he is learning to run to the right spots courtesy of running with Sloane and Pendles. I just hope he is given a license to hunt more of his own footy, I think Shiels is a victim of playing too long in the negating role.
