I'm surprised no one has made the comparison before - I reckon they have very similar styles.

I agree with you though, I think Riley has a bit better skills. That kick to Tex in the Elim final was "delicious "

:) I was calling Sloane mkII this year to no avail!

Just wills himself and seems to just do everything right without being able to find a stand out attribute. Could say the same about Sloane apart from his sloppy kicking from time to time.

Hampton as a midfielder is what I'm really excited about.

They had so many mids who couldn't play anywhere else at GWS they had to play him somewhere else. But as a mid, I think he can smash it.

For all we know at this stage Milera as opposed to Dean Gore could be the knives....I think you're seriously underrating Gore's potential as his pre-season AFL NAB form was OK and his VFL form when not injured was equally as good as Milera's SANFL form this year....and yes I know he's 12 months older than Milera.

I'm hopeful. It the Cats reserves side had one the flag I'd be a lot more confident. His b&f points per game was around the mark of a couple of other listed players in a poor and injury hit team. Although, he'd had an interrupted crack at at. If it turns out that I've underrated him, that would be fantastic.

I think pick 9 is essentially of fixed value. Whether you get it right or horribly wrong it's pick 9 in the year of the draft that you got it.

All depends on if he can get himself fit , hasn't got a tank at the moment . I see he isn't in full training yet so I hope that happens soon

Not to mention his kick for goal from the pocket. An interesting thing about that goal was that he practiced one from that EXACT spot before the game and nailed it. Got a big high-five from Betts when he kicked it.

Looks like a bloke who is just a big stage player. Give him the shot at goal to win the game after the siren, he'll kicked it from anywhere 9 times out of 10

I'm very excited about this year. Crouch back hopefully, 3 talented 50 gamers who all bring a weapon with them. And I can't to see what our 2 first rounders do in the sanfl or maybe a couple in the afl. Pumped.

On Foxtel ATM are themed match's .....i've been watching the GWS set of games from 2012 - 2015 ( car is being repaired,so working from home)

People, Hampton is a serious player ......even in the 2015 game i watched he was very good and i find it hard to understand why he fell out of favor.
It did say on the GWS website in 2013 that he struggled adhering to the team ethos

2102 game, 2013 game and 2015 game ......this guy looked composed, loved to run and take the game on, and his disposal was fine (not understanding the disposal ???)

In each game Brereton and others commented about Hampton having serious talent

He's a naturally attacking player who looks very comfortable thru the midfield ......he tackles and he's composed
He doesn't look comfortable in a pure lock down defensive role and i'd suggest he lost some of his opponents, which may explain why he fell out of favor

BUT !! ......Hampton is as talented as Menzel, make no mistake

He's only 22, just on 50 games ......and with his talent & played in the correct role ....he's a great pickup !!!

Might splice some of the games together on the weekend into a video

Yep Knight has a lot of terrific qualities. Ability to hear footsteps under a high ball rivals Hendo though. Needs to sort that out and he can be a very good player.
 YOU ARE KIDDING US .......kid's played a handful of games and you want to say that crap

As Brereton often says ...."every player in the history of the game has taken short steps" ......"you have to know when to be brave and when to be sensible"

Been watching his games over 3 years in last 24 hours ......Hampton has serious talent

It appears GWS favored Shaw to Hampton in that attacking HB role ....and as you say every player GWS drafted was a midfielder & some had to be tried in other roles even if it didn't suit them

Very keen to see Hampton in the midfield

Ive seen Knight play a lot of footy and I did see him duck the head a little in one or two marking contests. It really surprised me when he did, because I had NEVER seen him do it before. Knight is as tough as old boots normally and I would expect that as his confidence grows, you won't see that too often.

I reckon Hampton will improve significantly now that he'll have a crowd behind him...GWS need to get bums on seats soon or they are doomed i reckon.
