Notice that Pyke has fingered Menzel by saying he needs to improve his fitness - at least for mid opportunities. He has struggled with training loads.

Will be very interested in how the enigmatic Menzel performs. Given his experience he is the biggest unknown quantity to me and I hope he quickly develops a consistent role and performance.

OK OK Bad choice of word!!

God I hope that is true. Hilarious.
Actually had this conversation with my wife a few days ago - it is becoming more and more difficult telling the difference between boys and girls. There are a lot of long haired boys and a lot of what used to be called Tom Boys.
At the moment, both long hair (traditionally feminine) and beards (traditionally very masculine) are in for blokes. Man-buns are multiplying.

Not sure if this has been posted, but a nice upbeat assessment of our season:
No Danger, no matter for Adelaide
http://www.theroar.com.au/2016/02/12/no-danger-no-matter-adelaide/
One of the things that people don't seem to consider with losing Dangerfield is that we won't be trying to run the same game plan again. It's like they all assume we'll still be doing the "Thommo/Danger win the clearance and boot it forwards, rinse/repeat" thing. We've added some neat pieces and really have a chance to turn the midfield into a dynamic and multi faceted weapon, rather than a one (very good) trick pony.

Overall though, I think the biggest thing that'll define our season is why much better the defensive side gets. If that continues to improve, I think we could have a good year again.

I hope the roof is closed or Brad will have a meltdown.

The most interesting part of that article was the fact we won the outside contest seven times last year and out of those games we won all seven.

I actually kind of get the feeling the club are deliberately playing him down publicly

we're gonna be a much better all round team without Danger
It makes me curious how Danger is gonna go at Geelong. Not performance wise, but just with things like him leaving his defensive assignments and things like that. Remember the Hawks game during the year when he left his assignment multiple times in a row and it lead to the Hawks waltzing the ball out of the centre for easy goals. Then Campo pulled him and lost it at him and the media spun it as a "Danger/Campo" feud. So what is Chris Scott gonna do if Danger goes back to that sort of thing again? And is the media gonna ignore it if Scott does lose his cool during a game?

I'm sure you felt like Jada Pinkett Smith going to the Oscars.
In all honesty I felt:
- privileged
- engaged
- heard
- like bigfooty fans mattered to the club
- in a position to support an ongoing and genuine engagement with the club and its leaders
- in a position to support the club with some of its broader plans

Can you be specific on two things:
1. Are you alex? PM me if you like and I won't share. I can't be assed IP checking right now but if you are Alex and deny it that might get messy.
2. What you want other than more open training sessions. I miss those too but there are many on here that felt open training sessions created the wrong perception with the supporter base anyway. Like our guys were kings when they weren't etc..

oh wait.

If your ansewr to 1 is Yes, then you alreayd konw 2 and I have no idea what you're complaining about?!?!

One thing I would like from the club is better training videos, they should film every session and when someone does something special, put it in a 30 second youtube clip. I sure guys are doing cool shit that is straight out of a match highlight reel every session, would be cool to see more of that stuff. Stuff like the crouch v crouch one on one drill the posted a few weeks ago. Show us a crazy goal eddie kicked in the match sim, show us Tex taking a contested mark against talia, Show us lever winning a one on one against tex, Menzel slotting one from the boundary. It could easily be done to not give away any game plan or structure, just short out of context highlights. I'm sure they film every session anyway.
We had a brief chat to Katrina Gill and one of the main video guys last thursday.

NikkiNoo Peter J Hank93 do you remember that camera guys name? (PM please?)

I have asked the same question - really interested to see how they use him. I expect the way around his defensive deficiencies (he prioritises his attacking proficiencies above all else) is to play him in the forward line for high percentage of game time, rolling back into the middle. If things aren't working in the middle / need to change the dynamic you then throw him in there full-time for a spell. I don't think we used him properly.

I think we will be a better team without Danger too, but every time I have mentioned this on here a couple of regulars have decided that I am somehow saying PD is a shit player and we a happy to be rid of him ... so maybe we can steer around that line of discussion this time?

I don't know. You don't want to highlight who's doing very well too much. Remember when Sando said, "I don't want anyone to tag Brodie Smith" or along those lines. Letting the football do the talking is always a good way to go about it, we're not Port.
