Siddle has been very unlucky lately, suffering from a youth policy brought about by the selection of too many older and underwhelming players around him.

I guess the same could be said for lots of the older guys though. Siddle didn't exactly set the pitch on fire lately.

Ellyse Perry please.

Given the most recent performances on the test stage, Siddle should be picked over Hazlewood.
Not being in the Vic ODD team hurt his chances.

Woo cricket!!

I'm not a Siddle fan currently. He used to be reaaaaally good, but the past year or so his speed's gone down, and he's not made a good medium pace bowler. Hazlewood's done well so far but seemed to suffer a bit of burnout after the CWC. That's got to be expected from a youngster playing that much cricket though.

Hazlewood was good up until the ashes. I have my doubts about the Starc/Johnson/Hazlewood attack as Hazlewood IMO isn't quite there in being a bowler to tie up an end.

I actually think Starc is the odd one out here. Johnson's scary, with his bouncers, super-speed, 'stache and stare. Hazlewood's like his perfect partner with a bit of a variable speed, and tight lines. Starc throws down some great yorkers, and gets wickets. But he throws a lot of pies, is expensive, and if a bowler gets in, he's not that one to get them out again.

I miss Harris already

Couldn't agree more. I think Hazelwood copped a lot of flak for having a couple of just below average performances in the Ashes because Starc was so f***ing woeful. Siddle really is and always has been an up and down plodder who really stands out because of the ineptitude of others.

I'm really missing Harris, I knew as soon as he retired before the ashes that we were in trouble

I'm still unsure how he became favoured again...

Has had two very good years either side of the ACL opening for QLD. In shield before it and OD before and after. The only other guy you could really make an argument for is spanky banky and Burns to middle order.

Siddle may have his detractors, but that hattrick on his birthday will always be one of my favourite cricket memories.

Anyway, Burns making a good fist of it at the moment.

I wouldn't judge the Hazlewood/Siddle discussion on the Ashes tour, Hazlewood is a much better bowler on Australian decks with a Kookaburra in his hand..even a pink one. Siddle will do a job, regardless of where he plays, he's not spectacular but he's prepared to bowl long spells. Perhaps Boof is reluctant to play a vegan in his team.

The awkward moment when you're at the cricket and you're talking footy with your mates, bagging West Coast relentlessly and the guys in front of you reveal they are West Coast fans and turn out to be very nice people......****
Don't buy it mate. They just want you to go easy on them given the shellacking they got a few weeks back. Most of them have not surfaced yet...too busy with work up to Christmas is a common one.

I like being proven wrong :)
