I think we'll trade the pick we get for Hendo from the Cats to Brissy for Aish. If Yarran and Selwood were a swap, what else would need to be thrown in?
We'd want more than just Selwood for Yarran.

Why the **** would we want Selwood ??

Sorry , it's either utter bullshit , or even worse , utter madness !!
Utter madness, it is then, we are talking to Selwood, it is unrelated to the Yarran issue though. We will not over spend on Selwood but are interested.

Slightly OT but also list related, with all of the talk about a potential new home next year for Yaz (or possibly even the year after if he's not traded), does anybody know if/how you can change your user name on here?

hence the question, what else would need to be thrown in...@HBF, do you even read posts any more? :p:D
Yeah but Selwood and steak knives would be a waste of trading Yarran.

Again SOS isn't trading our best players for the sake of trading. He's after early draft picks. And Scott 'One Dimensional Tagger' Selwood has next to no value to our list.

Totally agree with your sentiments, Cringle. Our players will only be traded for picks.

I can only envisage a player-player swap if one of our mob said they wanted out or if another club came across with a silly offer.

But in any case Selwood is a Free Agent, so the whole hypothetical is moot...

Still wouldn't touch him if he came for free.

Woops... sorry mate.

Forgot we were after a new tagger with Carrots retiring.

Interview during the week suggested Carrots was staying. ;)

Selwood is younger than 15 of the blokes in our team tomorrow and would add to our rotations once Walker, Simpson, Carrazzo, Ellard and Armfield are pushed out within 2 years.

I'm not saying "get him" but the difference between him and your arch-enemy L Jones is that he can actually play and won't cost a 3rd round draft pick.

Notice talk about Dangerfield going to Geelong has developed a new twist that may impact you guys.

If he does go as a FA to Geelong the Crows will get a compo pick around pick 12. Suggestions now that Adelaide will match Geelongs offer and that will force Geelong to trade for him. Something like their first rounder plus a player like ex SA boy Motlop.

If that does occur Geelong won't readily have the picks to get Henderson from you.

Very interesting trade and ND coming up. BTW, you guys are better off not winning any more games and getting the first ND pick.

No thanks.

No, I won't. I'm a firm believer in not tanking for picks.

It's not tanking, it's list managing. Playing the youth to get games into them... isn't that what fans want with Graham, Whiley, Smith, Jaksch and Co? And picking up future Brownlow medalists on the way.

I know there's a big difference between losing games because we can't actually win, and tanking. Of course we want to play youth, but I also want to remain competitive. If we happen to finish last then so be it, but I'll never be happy about being a wooden spooner.

It's not 'tanking' because
a) we suck
b) we are no good
c) there is no such thing as 'Tanking' in the ADL (Andrew Demetirou League)
d) we could not execute it if it did.
e) the AFL will rush in a new rule that means if you finish last you have to bid for the #1 pick.

I think that covers the conspiracies out there.
