Fair enough. So our first and second round pick #8 + #26 for Hendo and your second round pick (around #22) wouldn't get it done, either?
I think that would get the job done to be honest... or just your first rounder straight up for Hendo.

Unless you had something else to throw on the trade table, you would be out of the first round regardless... unless of course Tomahawk walks as a free agent and you get a band 1 compo pick. And then I could see it just being a straight swap of the pick for Hendo.

That would be an interesting situation there. Has Hawkins re-signed with the Cats as yet? or are negotiations still ongoing?

EDIT: just checked myself and it seems that Hawkins has signed a 5 year contract with you guys a couple of weeks back that I completely missed out on seeing (**** WA with their strictly 2 teams in the AFL mentality). So... it goes back to being if you guys traded in Hendo for your first, you would still be out of the first round. That would make the trading of second round picks imperative to you... with the pick upgrade to go with it.

Do you have any interest in Josh Walker or Shane Kersten by any chance?

Geelong priority is to get dangerfield and might need to offer more $$$ to get him here, meaning less for hendo.

Geelong need to look at their future too, trading first rounder for 25 yr old to replace an ageing back-line that will need some other young KPD and 3rd talls is ok but doesnt help the future and is more something that a contender would do rather then a re-builder.

Might be interested in Josh... I think that I talked to one of your fellow supporters either last year or earlier this year. He has been pushed back down the pecking order by you guys picking up Clark and hasnt been able to force himself into contention for a permanent slot. But in this deal, he would be purely steak knives in any sort of deal that included your first round pick.

Kersten not so much.

I'd actually prefer Kersten than Josh Walker TBH. But generally, aside from Aish, I don't think we'll be picking up any more recycled players. Just try and stockpile more picks, its a shame that we'll probably only get a second rounder for Yarran, his body language and attitude this season has been so negative that we can't afford to keep him on another year and get better compo via him leaving as a Free Agent.

I think we did all we could as a club to try make Yarran a happy/content individual, but alas, the situation is now almost unteneable, as it stands, I'd say there is a 95 percent chance of Yarran being at another club next season and its a real pity.

Also I'd be happy to take Jakey Carlisle, especially if Hendo goes. However Dodoro os an absolute pill to try deal with, rumour has it St Kilda were interested in David Myers last year, Dodo asked for their number 1 pick.and a quality senior player as well (according to Finey on GuessEN)

Would be extremely satisfying if we could pinch Carlisle via the PSD, but lets not bother trying to get into any meaningful trade discussion with Dodo and Essendon, they would ask for Cripps and our first player, plus something else as a 'sweetner' ..

The Paddy Ryder trade only went through after the AFL mediation and threats from Ryder's management and lawyers if they didn't trade him to Port, they were asking for Wingard and Port's no 1 for Ryder.

Why bother attempt trade negotiations with such a deluded footy ops/recruiting manager and footy club ?

We def need forwards. Another Liam Jones we cannot afford. What are your thoughts on Kirsten or Walker as regular forward??
I definitely rate Walker ahead of Jones and I think that people who have seen them both play regularly over the last 18 months would agree with me on that one. Kersten is different in that he's more of a 3rd tall rather than a KPF. He's shown at times that he can play well in patches but struggles to do it consistently and it's anyones guess as to whether he will find that consistency over time or he will end up being one of those many players that promise alot but delivers very little.

Neither would cost much in a trade and would be worth considering IMO.

No we wouldn't be interested in Kerston or Walker.

Henderson and Pick 22 for Pick 8 and Pick 28 sounds fair tbh.

Pick 8 alone IMO would be asking too much considering Hendersons year. But we're still going to demand that first round pick. A slight downgrade in the second round evens it out.

So you are happy with Levi and Jonesy leading our forward line for the next few years?

Too many on this forum do not watch other teams realistically. Kersten a bit meh, but Walker an upgrade in output
on our two.

No but Jansen or Kolodjashnij would be
Kolo recently indicated in a radio interview that he plans on re-signing with the Cats and there is no way in the world that we'll be looking to trade him if he chooses to remain at the club. Jansen on the other hand may be gettable but he would cost practically nothing in a trade in any case.

Hendo to Geelong for 8 and a swap of second rounders.
Yarran I don't care anywhere he wants to go for a first rounder.
Give 26 to the lions for Aish. Tell Carlisle to walk to PSD.

Go into the draft with 1 - 8 - 16 - 38 - 60
Should be able to get rice for 38 and SOS for 60

Lobby the AFL for a priority pick

Edit:
Delist

Warnock
Ellard
Watson
Judd
Carrots
Walker might retire but is contracted
Giles (re-rookie)

rookie list
Johnstone
Walsh?

Trade
Hendo
Yarran

Upgrade Wood

You won't get Aish for 26. You'll probably have to send our pick up there for him and get a second rounder back.

There are very strong rumours on the Geelong board that Motlop won't be on Geelong's list next season. Richmond is one of the clubs being linked to him. As much as I'd hate to lose Motlop, it will ensure we have another first round draft pick to play with. I'd say we'd not be keen on trading a pick in the top 10, but be more amenable to trade a first rounder in the mid teens for Hendo.

Losing Christensen and Motlop? As Bartel and co are on the way out? Not good signs coming out of the Cattery.

He reportedly is asking for too much cash. Those in "the know" on our board have been saying for nigh on a year that Dangerfield will offset the loss of Motlop, and then some. Scott Selwood is another one who is strongly rumoured to be a definite at the Cattery next year. Christensen was a big loss, Motlop will be a MASSIVE loss, but hopefully with Danger and Scott Selwood as prospective ins, and if Cockatoo comes on like we all hope, we actually end up in the red.
