If we happen to get Jeremy Howe, he better take the best hanger of his career with us.

"We've had a huge amount of list changes and challenges.
"One draft pick is fantastic, two is even better isn't it?"
Leppitsch's plea for priority draft pick
Why not even more Leppitsch?
Get the impression these guys have already spoken to the AFL.
We know how this one plays out then...................See Frawley.
I also feel that there may be just a little uproar should this scenario come about.
They have won THREE flags in the last 15 years.
They do NOT deserve a PP!
I know that...........You know that...........Does the AFL know that though?
Just had a feeling of dejavu reading Leppitsch's comments.........remember Frawley?
They got 7 wins last year (as much as us and the Bulldogs) and have had a heap of good players injured this year. I really don't think there's any grounds to give them a priority pick.I personally think Brisbane do need a priority pick but it really should be end of first round.
Yeh I understand why people would disagree but when you have to recruit nearly 90% of your players from interstate and you are a small club in a small market it is going to be bloody tough to retain players and be competitive. They got 7 wins last year (as much as us and the Bulldogs) and have had a heap of good players injured this year. Fair reasoning, particularly the bit about the gulf between top teams and bottom teams. Keep up the good postingYeh I understand why people would disagree but when you have to recruit nearly 90% of your players from interstate and you are a small club in a small market it is going to be bloody tough to retain players and be competitive.
I also just think it's too tough for sides to move up the ladder through the draft in a sport where you have 22 players on the ground. I think it was King one night on fox footy put it pretty well that the bottom teams are at least 5 good players of reaching the top sides level.
Say if we get pick 1 then 19, 37 ect and the premiership side gets pick 18, 36 ect then if we draft at the same hit rate we will only improve one player on them every year and if you have one bust or they get lucky you fall further behind. It becomes even harder when you're mid table. That's why good side have managed to stay up for so long lately.
Personally I think they need to let bottom ten sides have 2 third round draft picks before the top 8 get there's just to try help abit but that's just me and I do see the other side of the argument.
They dominated when they had a leg up from the league. They have won THREE flags in the last 15 years.
They do NOT deserve a PP!
They shouldn't even be allowed to talk about it before the end of the season. They could end up above 2 other teams yet. They have won THREE flags in the last 15 years.

We've been a lot shitter for a lot longerI personally think Brisbane do need a priority pick but it really should be end of first round.
Teams like Melbourne and maybe even us would be higher up the ladder. I think.Watching the afl round table and listening to them discuss the spread of players over 18 teams I was curious to know what we would have looked like without GC and GWS in the competition.
Depressing but true. We've been a lot shitter for a lot longer
Yep, actually rang up SEN the other day about this as KB was talking about it. Pretty annoying that they only let you talk for 10 seconds after waiting 40 minutes to actually take your call.Leppitsch's plea for priority draft pick

But this year they will get two of the best kids from their own academy (at a discounted price) plus the #1 pick. I could accept a round two Priority Pick (and we should get one too if we win less than 4 games), but if they get Weitering, Schache, Keays and Hipwood plus manage to snag Dixon from Gold Coast then they are 5 best 22 players up on this year. Then when the guys who have been injured come back next year, they will be an absolute Bolter and a genuine chance of finals. This will set them up for ten years. They dominated when they had a leg up from the league.
Now there's free agency, players requesting trades and forcing clubs to trade with particular clubs etc. Brisbane will get reamed as, well as harsh as it is - no young promising player wants to hang around bottom/mid table, living in brisbane and playing in front of average crowds for their career.
Last year landing Christensen and Beams was a one off imo.

That would be an amazing off season if it all worked out that way but I think we all would be a bit naive to believe it will. Out of all those I only see a couple happening (aish for our second and hendo for geelongs first..maybe yarran for richmonds first depending where they finish but we may have to through something else in). Although I'd still be very happy with these few getting across the line. As much as Carlise would be a good replacement for Hendo I think he will stay with the *I'm wondering how our 2016 team will look if we have a A+ off season (as rated by some news papers...)
We clearly will be finishing in the bottom 3 and I suspect this year our first pick won't be going anywhere.
Weitering/Schache/Francis will be on our list, that is nearly a 100% lock.
Carlisle and Aish have been linked to us, but we are usually the team roped into this kind of talk each year at about this time.
Carlisle would be a great get. Let's face it. If he has to be on the sidelines for 12 months and we got him via the Psd, I'd still consider it a win.
Aish would definitely add to our midfield class. Touted as a top 3 pick in his draft before sliding to pick 7. His first year showed he has the goods. For a definite down 2nd year. I'd hope to pay no more than our 2nd pick.
So Aish, Carlisle and let's say Weitering added without losing a player, what is next?
Talk of Yaz and Hendo leaving isnt great unless we get first rounders for both.
Kruezer is another. Ideally the kid would stay, but if we were to get a first round compo for him, we could seriously end up with picks 1 and 2, Hendo to geelong for pick 12, Yarran to Richmond for pick15 which would be an amazing off season.
I'd be annoyed losing Kruezer most of all out of the 3 mentioned, but if we ended up with a top 3 pick for him, it would have to be seen as the right move forward for the club.
As much as it hurts, I can't argue against your logic. Club has to get some serious talent to the club to set a solid foundation for the future. I love you Kruez, but we are at a time where the club comes before the individual. Only trade Humphrey if we can get a godfather offer.I'm wondering how our 2016 team will look if we have a A+ off season (as rated by some news papers...)
