James Aish has Kristen Jaksch written all over it again, a player who has done nothing to deserve the hype and all of a sudden is becoming our must have player.. He is struggling in a side as equally poor as ours, and appears to have a poor attitude.

If it was a choice between Aish or a young gun like Nick Okearney who is tipped to go 15-20 range then i would much rather go with the kid in the draft..

Oh good - it has been a few weeks since this tripe was raised. I was beginning to think people have started to come to their senses on the issue.

Aish and his supposed poor attitude is one of the biggest myths going around at the moment. It seemingly doesn't matter how many times it is challenged and refuted, it continues to surface despite there being absolutely no basis for it.

You must be referring to his contract negotiations and their lack of progress, right? You must be taking that and extrapolating the fact he hasn't signed to mean he has a poor attitude. Right?

Show me one example of this supposed "poor attitude". I've looked and I've looked, hell I've even asked those who have raised this crap before, but I am yet to see or be provided with even one quote from Aish which could possibly lead a rational person to come to the conclusion that his attitude is not at a level it perhaps should be.

There has been plenty of speculating by the media. The Lions have had their fair share to say on the ordeal. Even his management may have been quoted once or twice along the way. But Aish? Nope. Nothing. Nada. Zip. He has remained silent throughout. Yet all the vitriole - from Brisbane and opposition fans alike - seems to be directed at him. Why?

He doesn't appear to have a poor attitude at all. He has not displayed anything which could be interpreted as such. It's about time this fallacy was put to bed for good.

For me the poor attitude is all about the quality of football he has put up since it became clear he was intending on leaving Brisbane. In 2014 he looked like he would develop into a very good footballer. So i think 2015 where he has been dropped on numerous times foor poor performance... so on this you either conclude he is not ny good, or he has a lpoor attitude.. i suspect its a bit of both.

i really have no idea of what they are worth, but 1st round picks for players clearly not at the peak of their form is pretty optimistic.
having a look at previous years for comparison - joel patfull / allen christensen for pick 21
levi greenwood pick 25
yet Aish (with only 1 year under his belt) has performed this year like Yazz and Hendo but is considered a first rnd pick?

The question has rightly been raised before - why would Aish want to come to us? Sure, he might want to come play for one of the 'big melbourne clubs' but unless we threw way more $$ at him, I just can't see it - especially when Crows will be targeting him. Anyone with word understand why he is being talked about with our name attached?

Aishes are good family friends of the Triggs. Plus Carlton spoke to him and/or his management up in Brisbane earlier this year.

Makes sense and I understand - I just wonder how we're selling it to him. Is it just about the $$ and opportunity or perhaps we're trying to spin the long-term chance to be part of a young building side with a long history?

Perhaps I'm just pessimistic but can't see him in Navy Blue... hope I'm proven wrong as the kid was a yet pre-draft and his first year showed he has a real future.

Come down on bigger $$$, not only be a part of a rebuild of the sports most successful club, but be the face of it with good blokes and future best mates in Cripps, Doc and others.

Good coffee is just down the street on Lygon, discounts at Ciccone, play for a Vic club your instagram account is predicted to grow by at least 60%, every other Victorian club is ugly and have shit blokes on their team.

This shit is easy.

Not sure how Aish gets mentioned in the same sentence as Carlton. Unfortunately your club would have to be one of, if not with Essendon the least attractive destinations in the AFL at present.

Aish wants to leave Brisbane, why? The weather is great all winter, no freezing your nuts off for three months. No salary cap problem if money is your go. The core of a good list decimated by injury this year and riches to come in the ND, number 1 pick probably gun KPF Schache who's dad played for Brisbane, one of the best midfielders in Keays via their academy and other very good academy recruits.

So maybe he wants to go back to SA, Crows and Port would both be dealing their first rounder with some massaging elsewhere.

Or does he want to go to a club contending? Write a list of half a dozen clubs here.

So how does Carlton appeal? I just can't see it and not sure how you get the deal done anyway with Brisbane who WILL play hard ball this time around. And don't mention the PSD, that's BF traders fantasy land.

My thoughts (albeit less brutal) of the same ilk were posted above. Though not sure Lions can play 'hardball' if Aish nominates and is un-signed. See: Docherty.
