Long time reader, first time...

We're getting pushed around, again.

We should be firing off a letter to the AFL from the lawyer Melbourne used to frighten the AFL off punishing them for tanking (Leon Zwier). The letter should make it clear that we will fight any changes that result from the campaigning of clubs in relation to our picks and potential compensation.

The AFL have showed themselves time and time again to be cowardly when faced with the possibility that their decision making processes might be opened for scrutiny, and this is no different. The opaqueness with which Evans has spoken so far underlines this fear.

We've played nicely for 15 years and have become a doormat - time to become The Doormat!

Welcome THC (interesting acronym right there). Agree we need to act to stand up for ourselves - should not let other clubs dictate what compo we get.

Just confused though - do we want to be the doormat? Your last statement is a bit contradictory :p

Bit of work to go yet, cats expected to lose Motlop ( no compo pick now ) and have cleared the salary cap space for Dangerfield, deal may have to get creative as expectation is crows will match Dangerfield offer and force a trade in their favour.
That will be very interesting if the crows match the offer. Could be fireworks.

I am pessimistic we won't get Geelong's first rounder for Hendo, we will have to settle for Josh Walker (ugh) and their second rounder..

I think something has gone awry for Hendo. Cats are out of the finals but he has not nominated them and they have not confirmed their interest. Yesterday, we see a puff piece on how hard he is training (presumably fed from his manager).

I wonder if the Cats have seen something better (Carlisle?) or whether they haven't quite cleared enough cap room for him now that Motlop looks like staying, and Enright

Welcome aboard TheHunterCripps, quality! :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

Is Carlisle the type of player we need YES
Should we trade a first round pick for him NO

Why I say this is almost every time we grab a big name player from another club (excluding Juddy) we have lost out

Dale Thomas
Brock Mclean
Robbie Warnock
Lachie Henderson
Collins from Richmond
Jason Sandringham

I could go on and on but you get the point

It never works for us and usually throws us back another year. I say we need to let SOS work his magic at the draft table and copy what both the Saints and Bulldogs have done then we can top up with other players down the track!!!

I understand that the CFC are well in advance of us here and have already had formal chats to the AFL around this situation.

The AFL have given us some comfort but the AFL is the AFL................not to be trusted.
