But Henderson will play good footy for Geelong, no doubt. I loved him, had his pic on last years membership card. So disappointing.
apparently he is training at Princes Park just to rub it in. Is breaking many club records including those set by Liam Jones when he was in pre-season explosive animal mode.

Helps when you have established stars to add them too...

Significant role players most of them but Diesel stood well above being a role player.

Took a few years to accumulate them but from 92 to 96 we had our window open and recruited for our needs very well.
We have Cripps. Lets build on that with Schache and Weitering...

And save our pennies for O'meara next year....

Hell no, Jag O'Meara wouldn't be worth it given his history of injuries and the draft picks involved to get him.

Too much of a risk for a club for us to take (and its a shame, as preinjury, he was looking like being a top 3 player in the comp for the next decade)

You know you don't have to be definitve with every post right?
Apart from his knee, what is the history of his injuries?

Well fine. In my opinion O'Meara is simply not the right type of player we should be recruiting, for a number of reasons (especially Salary Cap Considerations)

We don't really need him TBH.

No reason why he wont get back to his best and at least we will have all of next season to watch his progression.

Players can recover from injuries and the knee injury may mean we can get him cheaper.

So these are the picks we could have in this years draft
Pick 1
Pick 2 -Compo for losing Kruezer
Pick 9 - Geelong first pick for Henderson
Pick 13 /14 -Richmond first pick for Yarran

The last 2 picks will move depending on Compo picks but 4 picks in top 15 is tasty.

Then we might be able to do some sort of deal with Bell and Stefan Martin as we will need a ruckman if we lose Kruezer.

Fair enough, and you may be right. I just can't imagine many people being unhappy to take him if he was coming.

At the minimum (and i mean minimum) he would us our first rounder next year, most likely in the 1-4 range. That's not a good move for a club in our rebuilding phase.

I would only be prepared to give that pick up for a Jake Stringer type. And that's not going to happen
