The biggest concern for me about Walker is that Brad Scott doesnt rate him enough that he thought it necessary to go and get Mitch Clark, Rhys Stanley and now Lachie Henderson to ply a role that looks ideal for someone like Walker.
He's not a KPP tho, the others you mentioned are. I am not saying we should take him, however he could be a role pplayr for us.

I am not sure on Walker either. One thing I did read though he has excellent endurance so could play a type of Crameri role...I think we will probably have a game based around two medium talls and big i.e. Everitt, Josh Walker and Casboult as the big.

Is Walker a medium tall when it comes to KPFs though? 196cm. Is he that agile?

He averages less than 10 disposals per game this year and just under 4 marks.

I think Everitt, Casboult and Andrew Walker is our best combo up forward. This pushes Menzel to half forward with more forays into the midfield.

Would Walker have performed any better in our forward line than Watson (or even Jones)?

I just hope Bolts sits down with KJ and the fitness staff and build his endurance and strength so he can play that athletic CHF we crave.
Dunno if its already been mentioned but I saw a post on facebook yesterday from some sports performance trainer who's working with KJ before the preseason. Good to see, though I expect a lot of the team would be doing something similar.

J.Walker looks like an average player but like all players that make the AFL they need time and opportunity at 22 still young for KPP. You just don't know and some may surprise you. I am still think SOS will look for 3 way trade to get Carlisle to us, Hendo to Geelong and Geelong 1st to Essendon with Walker thrown in as steak knives with a swap of 2nd round picks.

Our spine will look a lot stronger as well as have depth. I would rather see J. Walker then Jones on field.

I think KJ knows their is pressure on him but a massive opportunity to become a decent KPP and its in his own hands to do so.

Grade C third talls ... I think we've tried that with Jones and failed, badly.

This team needs quality. Unless we can trade for it, we should go to the draft. We should have between 2 and 4 top 20 picks. Plus the PSD plus two potential father sons. Our chance to bring in 6 quality young kids.

Look at Collingwood: they're going for quality - players with genuine skill. They learned the hard way with Armstrong, Karnezis, White and Young.

If we swap Hendo and #20 for #9, #28, and Walker (which is too much for Geelong to pay incidentally), I doubt we'd be giving #9 for Carlisle. Not even sure we'd do #9 for #24 and Carlisle because we'd be very attracted to what #9 might get us.

Agree. Rowe NOT Jamo has been our biggest disappointment in defence this season. Just has no reactionary speed, awareness and is dropping marks a pre-schooler has no trouble with. Wouldn't be surprised if Sam is delisted.
Sam did get better in the last couple of weeks of the season. Suspect there'll be players ahead of him on the chopping block.

You get Krooz, MM, Crippa & Gibbs in the middle, that is some supply.

Someone else smarter than me, build the rest.

If we started delivering inside 50 properly then Walker is going to have a boom year like 2011, Cas is going to kick more and even Watson will benefit as he is a great shot for goal from limited opportunities.

Walker is only 192cm...different to Watson who turns like Ship and Jones who gets lapped by all and sundry while jogging laps. Dont get me wrong i dont want to swap him for Hendo, he should just come as part of a steak knives scenario.

I'm pretty confident it'll be Hendo and a late pick for Cats 1st and Walker.

Walker will cost about what we gave for Jones and I'm still sure we get their first. Our 3rd pick is around 44 and we paid 46 for Jones. I'd say Walker is worth that.

I think it will be Hendo for 2016 caats first pick. Scott will bck himself in to finiah top 4 next season and a pick 15 is about fair value for Hendo.

I'd like him better if he just gave up on his hair and shaved it.

If he grows it out, then does the comb over, will he be as good as Ablett?

Considering we were looking at Hendo and #20 for #9 and #28 at best, you'd take that and not have to swap second rounders.

We do need something now though.

I'd do Hendo and next year's second rounder for #28, a fringe player and next year's first rounder. That way we get #28 now to use for other trades or f/s to compensate immediately for losing a key player and having to wait a year to get the rest of our bounty. Walker or Horlin-Smith as the player I guess. Then potentially a mid to late first rounder next year in exchange for our early second rounder.

Massive NO to another C grader in Walker !!
Henderson and 20 for 9 and 28 .
Offer 28 to * for Carlisle , if they refuse we walk him to the PSD .
Take 9 to the draft for Curnow/Weideman .

Fine in theory. Just don't see us getting Carlisle for #28 or walking him to the PSD.

What about Henderson and next year's second rounder for #9 and next year's second rounder, and then we use #20 for Carlisle. Not great but a slim chance.

First Rounders or PSD.......simple as that. We ain't no Swap Card Club.

We have been totally done up the arse for no return in the last 3 years.

Play Hard Ball from now on.

We hold the Aces.

With the Blues set for pick 1 at the minimum and nearly all on here dead against trading top picks or the top pick in the national draft, it has got me thinking.

If given their time over, which clubs would change their pick number 1 pick?

I think only St Kilda (Riewolt) and Hawthorn (Hodge) would stick with the original selection, Hawthorn even though Judd turned out to be a better player, they would have nothing to gain from swapping.

If most agree on this point or agree mostly, does it make you worry about the talk on Weitering, so many posts about how he will shore up our defence for a decade seem to be the same for every number 1 pick and each year they are supposedly better than the guy last year.
