Henry Schade (Gold Coast) and Aidan Corr (GWS) should be on our radar.

They are both tall, rangy defenders and are being chased by the Dogs.

Either would be a handy addition for the future.
We need to do something about our future KPD's judging by the struggles both Rowe and Jamison are having with their form, bodies, age etc.

Better finish last or else Brisbane are going to throw a truckload of $$$ at Henderson in the PSD.

He doesn't qualify as a restricted free agent with us so he can walk and we get nothing.

Not sure Lachie would be interested in returning to Brisbane, he will go to a team in contention and i reckon Freo who have now conceded they wont get Rance may be his suitor.

we look like going very close to wooden spoon which would give us 1, 19, 37 plus PSD number 1

is this too aggressive ?

Murphy for 10 and 25 say ?
Thomas for 35 (may have to pay some of his salary)
Walker for 30

Gives us 1,10,19,25,30,35 and 37

Aish with PSD pick 1 plus 7 more of best 37 kids in australia including Jacob Weitering

Add to the sub-27 year-old list of

Kruzer (really important 14 weeks for this guy)
Cripps
Menzel
Gibbs
Yarran
Buckley
Docherty
Boekhorst
Jaksch
Viojo Rainbow
clem smith
Giles ?
Whiley
Henderson
foster
Bell
Casboult

Option 1 - finish last
#1 pick
#12-18 pick for Henderson
Aish in PSD

Option 2 - finish second last
#2 pick
Henderson leaves in PSD and we get nothing
No Aish

So lets see picks 1,15,Aish or pick 2

hmmm for the sake of one extra 'feel good' win...

and if we finish last we get this guy

That article is fairly exciting. Could be our very own Nick Riewoldt. Has leadership written all over him.

I have no idea what value we would get for these guys, and I am not sure anyone would take Daisy off our hands unless he plays a good season.

I am firmly in the camp of needing a rebuild.

Murph, Gibbs are nice players. But IMO they are 3rd or 4th midfielders. Both would carve it up on a Hawthorn or Port Adelaide. They also aren't leaders. Our best natural leader seems to be Crippa. Those two lads aren't going to lead a team to a premiership. Hendo is another one that has good currency. Good player, but will he be useful for us in the next 2-3 years, when win/loss isnt as important as structures, culture and getting experience and hardness into our youth?

If we give SOS 7-8 picks in the first 2 rounds, I am all for it. We will be average for another 2-3 years, but with smart trading we can fill up on early round talent, with a focus on leg-speed, leadership and decision making. Players that can execute the basic skills of the game are welcome too.

Then we need to ensure we have the best fitness and development coaches in Australia, followed by a good mixture of youth and experience at all coaching levels.

If we're going to rebuild hard... I wouldn't be against the idea suggested by the Adelaide poster earlier. Keeping the few players over 28 who wouldn't really fetch much in a trade but would still be serviceable for another 3-5 years (Murphy, Thomas, Walker, Simpson and Jamison).

Realistically... other than the first two we wouldn't receive anything more than a 3rd rounder. This would leave Henderson whose already held of contract negotiations, Gibbs and Yarran. I'd only be looking at trading the one this year and seeing our improvement in 2016 before throwing the other two away.

We're not going to get anything but a late pick (if that) for 1AW unless he turns it around dramatically. I'm not sure if it's the lack of a preseason or, more likely, its a case of the mind being willing but the body not being able to do it anymore.

It was sad watching him against Brisbane. He knew what he had to do but was physically incapable of doing it.

Agreed. He was a shadow of his former self. Has been a decent player for the blues. Time to move on though.

We shouldnt trade many of the older guys just for the sake of it. We need some senior players. I think Murph still has good currency though, so we should entertain offers. He definitely should not be shipped off for nothing though.

haha all this talk about rebuilding! every club outside of the top 4 is rebuilding!
we come last or 2nd last we get two picks in the 20 an pick 2 in psd that's all we need after what we got this draft to get as ticking over,
an aish in the pre season draft yeh right haha!!

I'd rather keep the Murphs, Thomas, Jamison, etc. who are worth more to use than what we'd get back in a trade.

Our value lies in Henderson and Gibbs atm. And potentially Yarran.

and here I was hoping that SOS would be in talks with Jake Carlisle about switching camps... Not sure I want him until the full stain of the WADA result is down..

If we can get Kruezar up and about for the rest of the season playing the footy we know he is capable off, i still reckon we are a decent chance of having a side like Sydney or Essendon offer him a 4 year deal on $550k that should still get us a first round pick as free agent compo, which will be a top 5 pick like the James Frawley situation. It would suck to lose the big man after persisting with him, but if we got a top 5 pick it could be best for both if we parted ways..

I still dont think we will finish last, probably 3rd last..
So we could end up with pick 3 & 4
Yarran to West Coast for pick 8, traded to Gold Coast for Charlie Dixon
Henderson I would like to stay, but should he wish to go would be for a first round pick, let say Freo with pick 18.

So end the trade period with picks 3, 4, 18, 21 + Charlie Dixon and I reckon every Carlton fan would be happy.. It would also give us the option of using pick 4 for Dylan Shiel and if we lost Kruezar I would look to use pick 21 to pick up a youngish (under 25) ruckmen like Daniel Gorringe, Tom Nicholls or Zac Clarke.

comprehensively it would seem.

wouldn't have been many KPD taken at number 1 in the past.

Good thoughts, however I feel we are so deplorable and so off the pace in terms of fitness, that we will struggle to win 2-3 more games.

GWS will absolutely pants us this week.

We are a lock for bottom 2, and likely last. Brisbane is atrocious too, though they play with a home ground advantage. Migght get them the choccies a few times.

The article about the KPP has me drooling. Pick him up and Shiel with your mentioned compo pick...well that is a nice start to the rebuild.

I think we should just stick with Wood and pick up a couple more rookie pick rucks. I hope I never see another first round ruck picked for the navy blues.
