Yaz is one player i dont want to let go of this year. He is still only 24 and in my opinion Carltons most damaging player. I think in the next year or 2 he will be Carltons best player. Unless it was for a top 8 pick i wouldnt let go of him. If he decides to go through free agency next year so be it, but i wouldnt be trading him as he will be in his prime when we return back up the ladder.

If we finish last and the lions finish second last. We will be able to play hard ball big time with Brisbane.

We could say we will take Ben Keays with pick 1 forcing them to use there first round pick.
Which would be pick 2. Inseed of getting him with there secound pick 20ish.
This could all be avoided we say." you trade us Aish for well below his market value or allow him to walk into the preseason draft" and we will pass on Keays.
Letting them pick the best talent to come out of there state since Nick Riewolt.

Something like this happened that allowed Jack Viney to go second round IIRC.

Holman with 13 tackles needs a game!

No disrespect, but I think you're better off getting the right process for a rebuild in place, and not hoping for a magic bullet solution, like getting Aish for free in the PSD or clubs overpaying for someone on your list.

Go try for Aish - but there's no history of players actually entering the PSD in order to go to bottom ranked teams. It's discussed every year on BigFooty but never happens.

Trade Henderson. You'll get a first round pick for a key back and that's worth taking.

Trade Gibbs. You won't get what you would have gotten for him if you'd let him go as a free agent, but you'll get a late first. The Crows would probably do their first and second for Gibbs and your second, for example.

Let Kreuzer go, unless no one makes any kind of reasonable offer, which they may not.

Keep every senior player that provides leadership. Hold Yarren and Murphy for another year, as you may need to repeat this process.

It's probably hard to hear, but you're a minimum of five years away.
Phew...

Hard to hear, but at least now we know the way forward.

You would have to give a fair bit for him, I would think; he's one of Carlton's few valuable players. I dare say Carlton wouldnt part with him for any less than a first round pick or equivalent. He'd be more value to us in the team for anything less.

I would part with our first pick. Middle to end of the first round.

Just like what Pickering did with Tom Boyd was good for us. Right?

Pickering is a slimeball.

Lame Pickering is actually part of the reason I don't want Aish at Carlton, any players he represents as a manager should be 'blackballed' (like the club did with Dave Ellison after Hamill left) ..

There'll be plenty of clubs who would have Aish - not sure we're in a position to pick and choose players based on how we feel about their managers.

The issue with Yarran is will he ever be a consistent star? We all know he has talent but unless he becomes a out and out star there is merit in considering a trade

Cannot see us getting Aish unless we overpay. I expect him to go to Adelaide or Port, and we are just being used to ramp up price, but stranger things have happened like Buddy and Tippett trades, Clarke going to Melbourne, Nick Stevens to Carlton, etc. If we have an early second round pick and leverage with the PSD and if he wants to come to us, get it done.

Really think the Tom Mitchell bus has left town now. Pity we could not get a deal done last year as he would have been more than handy.

We really lack midfield depth and quality under the MM game structure.
Hope Graham, Holman, Cripps, Bell, etc. can keep developing so we can improve here.
maybe use Sheehan, Byrne, Yaz, Tutt, etc. for some outside speed?

Do not think we can trade Gibbs and Murphy as we need them too much to help develop the next generation. I think both are still having a go (with limited support and game plan?) and we should not sell either unless we are getting overs (and they want to go).

Wood is starting to get overwhelmed at Ruck. Is it time to give 206 a week before Kruze comes back? or play Kruzer as a forward for a week?

Bang. Aside from getting rid of our Kreuz this is such an air-clearing post for me.

Not sure that's a completely fair statement.

Wood has limitations but I thought he was very reasonable on the weekend. Held his own against Martin and for mine is a significantly better option for us than Warnock who is a liability outside the centre circle.

I think Wood is putting in, but Martin won the Ruck battle IMO. Warnock more likely to win the ruck battle against Mumford this week. Also want to see if Warnock still has value.
