Also want to add that he is my pick for a truly breakout season. He wants that Half forward Mid role that has really become a strength for us position wise. He didn't even flinch when asked how he would deal with competing with guys like Dayne Beams and Allen Christensen for spots.... I can't wait for round 1 and that is solely so I can see Sam Mayes tear the game apart. He is going to be one of the best and I cannot ****ing wait.

He is one that I am hoping to go to another level. He's making all the right noises and putting them into action which is even more pleasing. Just wish the younger crew would put on a few extra kilos (J. Clarke aka The Beast, not included) especially in the shoulder/arm region.

Sadly, Sam doesn't just reserve his brave attempts at facial hair growth for November. For those with short memories, his feeble efforts have been seen throughout the year.

Must admit I agree there
Specially when your on the other side of the continent. Melbourne clubs have shots of pre season all over the place. Just nice to keep up with things as much as ya can I spose!

I don't think they are doing anything of much interest at this stage. Just a bunch of blokes running around a track, mostly. When they start doing more skills/drills, there might be more to see.
I imagine there will be a lot more interest/coverage when the senior boys start back next week as well.

Agreed. The real interest will kick in once D Beams, Bundy and Robbo5 not Robbo18 start training. I expect an unprecedented degree of interstate coverage in Lions pre-season training at least since the early 2000s.

Is there any info on where they are doing there training. Im kinda new to the whole wanting to get down and watch or get to know the players and I figured might take a day off work and take the boy down to see them. Albeit he is only 13 months old so its more for me then him.

Robbo 5 needs a nickname how about Psycho otherwise this is going to be completely Confusing.
