End of the day it is a preseason game that isnt given much coverage. There isnt much point complaining about what people should do for coverage who cant attend. If there is no coverage then there is no coverage. It is the AFL decision to not do full coverage for the preseason games.
Can understand why there might not be Foxtel coverage of all the games, especially the one's in regional areas which would be expensive to broadcast (although I note the Shepparton game gets coverage), but the embargo on streaming other games is just Foxtel and the AFL protecting their commercial interests which sucks to me.

Expecting a scrappy but hard fought contest this week. Both sides likely to field their strongest available sides. Going to be very interesting to see how our coaches rate those who are available. I assume there is an extended bench?

Collingwood and Hawthorn both picked squads of 29. Assuming 3 as emergencies and 8 on the bench.

First of all: Chill, no need to go down someones throat.
Second of all: I am not annoyed at the club, the article mentions what to do if u are in Queensland but there is a big majority of people outside of Queensland (like myself) who are unable to get down there. They have mentioned nothing in the article about what to do. Even if they had just said look at twitter updates for people outside of Queensland, it would have been better than nothing.
Catch the hovercraft?

Isnt that just a page on their website that just provides links to the different stations covering the game
Dunno, broadcast guide lists afl live and various other radio stations but SEN nowhere to be seen.

On a different note....Nick Riewoldts sister Maddy passed away today after a long battle with a bone marrow disease....Nick would have been her biggest fan and was often talking about her, posting pictures on his wifes twitter etc.......such a beautiful brave girl, so sad. Nick has taken indefinite leave from the Saints to mourn with his family.

My thoughts are this.....is there some way on Saturday that we can acknowledge their loss? Maddy was very much a part of the Saints family, and I believe the whole club are shattered by her passing.

I see some clubs have tweeted their condolences to the Riewoldt family.

The boys wear black armbands in these situations and Im sure they'll do it on Saturday to.

Simple fact is, streaming is expensive (apparently), and what broadcaster thinks they're going to draw a crowd with 2 'cellar dwellers' in a practice match?
Honestly, how many would they really be catering for? On occasions last year, we were struggling to get 11,000 to a home game (regular season).
Not sure what people realistically expect, or who they expect to pay for it and deliver it to them.

Yes.....Its a show of respect.
..and if you check social media tonight, you will see quite a few clubs have sent out condolences to both the Riewoldts and the Saints family in general.

...also, the Riewoldts are a Qld family from the Gold Coast...Nick was nearly a Lion too by the way.
He was a champ from the Southport Sharks.

Just rewatching the Collingwood game :) am really glad Beams junior will be in the team (hopefully) but l also feel that we just have to find a spot for McStay and get him as many games as possible. Too classy.

Also does anyone know if Clarke has beefed up enough to be able to take on the monsters (Cloke, Hawkins etc.)

Clarke looks much stronger than he appears and considering that we're putting him up against guys like Cloke we're banking on him to play a more natural full back role

On McStay, I see so much upside it's borderline ridiculous. As first year player, his marking ability is top notch and his versatility is ideal for the modern game. Could be the pick of the 2013 draft, which is saying something considering we snatched up guys like Lewy Taylor and James Aish
