So what are we all thinking about Brodie Smith? I planned to get him as a fallen premo in round 12 but with Gibson, Shaw, T-Mac, KK, Saad and Oxley all going fairly smoothly, I don't know if I need him. The plan was to do a sideways from Jake Kelly (who is probably flourishing because of Smith's absence) to Brodie Smith, but why isn't he playing this week? Smith was expected to fall further in price, and Kelly is due to rise again, come round 12 they'll almost be identical prices.

Why isn't he playing this week? Is it anything other than precautionary? Obviously concussion is the hot topic at the moment, are the Crows just playing it safe? Because one would of thought he'd be in their best 22 and that's exactly what they'll need to beat Fremantle.

Coming from someone who has had him for the bulk of the year, alot can go wrong, sooooo much can, has, and probably will continue to go wrong.

One good week, does not make up for him playing like he is allergic to human contact. Wait a bit for him to prove it wasn't just a fluke.

What are people thoughts on Brodie Smith av for the rest of the year?.90 plus?? Once fit of coarse might take till after the bye to come good,in the same vien as Parker with head knocks.

If your still carrying Saad and Oxley you probably have the luxury to wait and see, I will look at him as my final back upgrade but I'm comfortable running with Saad or Oxley for the time being until im convinced he can maintain a decent average.

I would have gone for lever but I did a double upgrade that week instead.
Looking back it was a huge mistake haha.

I wouldn't say a huge mistake, that all depends on who you brought in.

The fact that Hamling has been named, may mean you lucked out with another playing defender on the cusp in the next few weeks. Fingers Crossed.

2 concussions in a month is not good at all. I reckon there should be a rule that if you are concussed you automatically sit out the next game. A second concussion in the same season automatic 2 weeks off. However 2 concussions within say 1-8 weeks of the first one should be an automatic 4 weeks off IMO.

Yep, 3 concussions in one season should be season ending LTI. Some of these players are going to wind up brain damaged by the time they're 40 if the rules aren't changed. Other sports have very strict rules on concussed players.

Hasn't laird had 2 concussions also? This is the worry, maybe smith is showing more severe side affects..

Hearing J Brown talk about his concussions on Open Mike was just plain scary.. 3 weeks after one he couldn't drive a car, balance was all out of whack.. Only have to look at the NFL to see it's a lawsuit waiting to happen..

Simpson the safest, but I reckon Gibson and Rance have more upside

As a former Hibberd owner I would strongly discourage you putting him in.

Seems to be back to vintage, so should hold, and will be looking to impress with a new coach I guess.

Will frustrate at times, and will probably back his 140 with a 60 this week, but thats what he has always done to maintain a decent average.

Pretty much bottomed out at 368k, BE of 91 this week. Carlton are obviously a big risk and Doc's emergence might prevent him from getting his big numbers back. Worth a thought though

Thoughts on trading in Hodge? Normally not one to pay big dollars for defenders but I feel Hodgey is still a great pick.

Played 7 games, 3 100+ games and lowest score is 80. I've got him, only reliable defender I have.
