But that's just silly. He needs match fitness and is a player who has been out of form, to not play him would make no sense, hes a certainty to play.
Also, no way would Tabs be getting dropped, these practice games are crucial for him.
Big difference in roles between D. Pearce and Dawson mate, that's not how it works.

I take all your opinion (Tab , Mayne not drop but less minute, Mayne- normally after. Concussion seldom play a good match)

Exception
D.Pearce, this bloke I need to let go causing me too much high blood pressure ( giving up on him will save life, maybe television screen, or avoid injury to the person that sit beside me) one last chance to prove me wrong. Dudley he is all yours, if you need any soft drink and chips to go with it let me know :p

I agree with most of what you say but Muz is easily best 22.

I also agree that Muz is best 22 but not so sure the coach shares the same view. Anyhow if he gets through with no injuries and continues to perform in the preseason he is a chance for round one. Would think it is tempting, with the reduced interchanges, to have your best runner in the team.

He's one player capable of spending longer periods on the field

Yes maybe Ross disagrees with me but as much as I like the new guys IMO he offers more at the moment.

Hi Danny. Sorry I didn't see this note from you until later. Thanks for getting back to me. I did make it to the game and had a great day. Will catch up for a beer next time.
You going to Mt Barker for the game against the Furken Crows.

If Adelaide bring over their kids next week (as expected) we may only get one serious hit out before round 1. Which I'm sure RTB won't think is ideal.

If Adelaide do bring over their kids, I hope we play ours too, I'd love to see Langdon and Hughes play.
Ross mentioned in his presser after Fridays game that Langdon was playing next week. I can't see why Hughes won't play. I feel that for the game against Geelong we will probably have close to our best 22 on the park so they can gel ahead of the Round 1 game.

Knowing Ross, I think those in rookie list got no chance of playing Nab . ( Tanner, uebergang, ryhuis, )

Anyone know if the boys are driving down there or flying to Albany and then getting to MB from there?

Spent time redoing my best 22 after watching the game on the weekend. It left me with a couple of interesting questions.
  • Do I keep Mayne in or will a combo of Bennell and Weller compensate enough?
  • Assuming Gu and Subs are in. Who goes to keep Mayne? Sherridan or Weller?
  • Is it actually possible to fit 3 talls into the back six?
  • How come I still ain't playing the youth.

I keep reading B22's around the place that don't include Mayne and I keep shaking my head. Yes he did a few silly things last year but...

Mayne was the only general forward in the AFL to rate elite for pressure acts, tackles and tackle efficiency. He ranked third (at Freo) for scoreboard impact per game. On the lead he was better than Pav. Yes he had flaws but if this analysis doesn't secure his spot in the B22 then I don't know what will.

The other main reason is that Walters playing in the midfield could possibly make a world of difference to our scoring (as a team). He has the 5th best kick rating in the league. Having him kicking inside 50 should actually result in far more than the 45 goals he kicked individually last year. Having Pav, Griff, Sandi, Mayne, Fyfe, Barlow, Bennell and Tabs/APearce/Yarran as leading/contested targets should give him (and the other mids) plenty of inside 50 options to kick to. We have Mayne and Ballaz leading the forward pressure to keep it locked in if necessary (add in Gu if we need). And we have Ballaz, Walters (when forward) and Weller/Langdon as small forwards to jump on any ground balls. Our forward line should get good supply and have the diversity of skills inside 50 to finish the job on the scoreboard.

Fyfe, Bennell, Walters, Barlow and Weller/Langdon all rotating between the midfield and half forward sounds amazing to me.

Right now, no they wont be enough in my opinion. Bennell will spend time forward, but also up the ground and Weller will be too inconsistent to leave Mayne out. I get the excitement over Weller, but he doesn't get enough of the pill enough to keep Mayne out, not saying there isn't room for him in the 22, because he could very well take de Boers spot in the Round One team. Mayne is best 22 right now, without a single doubt.

I'd Be gutted if Ubergang doesn't play in the next 2 games. Smith has had 3 years but hasn't delivered. Ubergang offers something at both ends of the ground. Balic a chance for a game?

After watching Monday training session if yarran in main list not playing, i will be surprised uebergang as rookie list play the next two Nab game. ( I love uebergang potential but just need at least half a season in WAFL)
