Just announced Joel Selwood and Luke Shuey have retired
That's what I am saying, he has always been held but maybe the umpires will actually see him being held off it with no third man up to tap the ball, got to take notice when the ball is thrown up and comes straight back down without being tapped.How long have you been watching Sandilands? The umpires will see Sandi being held back each and every time and will pay at most two free kicks to the big man. This will benefit someone, but not our ruckman.
If anything, it will favour the mosquito brigade over larger midfielders (because smaller midfielders never take the third man up).

Just like you...hahaha. Sandi is going to lift us above your mob this year for sure. (-:Best you put Sandi in cotton wool then because if he goes down yours are slow, broken or fat
If it means that clubs start going out and drafting actual AFL players rather than steeplechasers this is a good thinghe has a sense of humour about it at least...
I want more info about the anti ducking rule. If that stops the cheating that has been occurring;
I'll be surprised, and I'll be very happy.
Reminds me of an article I read about Daniel Venables
"I think if I'm half the player that Luke is then I'll be pretty happy with that. He's a gun. If I can learn a few things off him and take in everything he says then that would be amazing."
What is half of mediocre these days anyway? Poor kid is doomed
Our whole midfield just got a huge boost. Contested ball winners are even more important now and we have some of the biggest and best running around. I wonder how many times next season we'll be hearing "Sandi taps it to <insert Fyfe, Mundy, Blakely, Neale> without breaking stride, who handballs it out to Suban/DPearce who kicks a goal from 55m out"
I think we've only really had good midfielders for the past 5 years. Before then, I think it was more our midfielders not being able to capitalize and Sandi's dominance, which made it look like the opposition read Sandi's taps. I can't remember the last time we had such a big midfield (all being 185 cm+ 85 kg+ with the exception of Neale) to be able to bullock and block the opposition.Opposition players have always focused on reading Sandi's taps. All it means is that now it's the permanent strategy rather than just something they did at centre bounces.
Not sure if this has been posted but the Perthnow article elaborates on the head-high rule interpretation for next year:I want more info about the anti ducking rule. If that stops the cheating that has been occurring;

Sons of the Northern Darkness heartily endorse this post, hahah.
Merry Xmas all.
