What I don't get is the 'morality' around memberships. Reeks of 'Shut up and buy a membership.' People have their reasons which, in their worlds, are legitimate. Who are we to say what's 'right' and 'wrong'? I don't share the view of any people who might be deciding not to re-sign due to Boomer etc., but that's their view. Similarly, I probably don't share their view about the club's handling of it either.

All the club can do is make ourselves as an attractive a proposition as possible. I'm confident this next batch will, if not this year, then next.
I agree with your general sentiment. However, those who jump on/off the bandwagon depending on how it's travelling at any given time really do get on my t*ts.

36,246 (-1,858)

Whilst we have dropped off a bit of context. We are 3,220 ahead of where we were at this point in 2015.
Unless my numbers are wrong, we are behind by 1,389
There was a double update on this day last year. I got the math wrong tho. We are 1771 behind.
Oooh, I dunno BT, reeks of "fake news" and "alternative facts".

Which news outlet to believe these days? The mainstream "GR TV" or "Breitbart Tron"?

He is correct. I had the date added on the 25th, and as he stated there was a double update on the day so I've added both numbers on the two days.

Consider that on 29 April 2016 NMFC announced a record membership at that time of 41500. Are we underestimating the James Brayshaw factor as well in terms of pull for the club?

I don't think it has so much to do with JB as it does the stubbornness of some "fans" after the delistings at the end of last year. The poor finish to the year probably doesn't help either.

I also believe that our membership last year particularly spiked early in 2016 quite a bit in anticipation of perhaps a big finish to 2016 based on the big finish to 2015 and there was a lot of expectation and anticipation early last year that 2016 could have been North's year. I might be bold enough to suggest that many aren't setting the bar high this year (quite wrongly so too!) in terms of how they are expecting the club to perform. I still maintain that we are arguably a stronger team this year and that we may well be competitive even going into the finals. Last year it was apparent even early in the season that we didn't have the legs to finish the second half of our games strongly and it was in the second half of our games where we either struggled to hold off teams coming from behind, or they would run over the top of us. Hopefully, the club has addressed this now with North having the second youngest player list in the competition.

I've heard we're offering a membership deal for this weekend in Hobart. Any membership purchased prior to our game against GWS comes with complimentary view of our 2018 recruit of the year in action.

From what l saw of the first two games inability to run out the game has become a much bigger problem. Not sure where you were sitting but in the last quarter against Geelong the team had come to a total stop even though they were really trying.

lt looks to me that the membership will be down about 5k on 2016. Unless there is a take-off on those three game memberships, tassie 3 games and even 1 game memberships.

l think it is reflective of a) lack of optimism regarding performances compared to last year b) Boomer issue c) tiredness of Scott.

lMO ignoring those issues or blaming people for having those feelings is burying heads in the sand.

If this is the case, and i'd say you are on the money, then i really wonder what type of members they really are in the first place.

Love the optimism, but have you watched our last two games? We looked ragged last in the 4th quarter last week and Unfortunately its generally the unconditioned kids that run out of petrol tickets in the last. Sam Gibson our all day runner is just shy of 31 years. Endurance athletes peak between 25 and 30 years old and VO2 Max doesn't decline till 30 in the general population and typically later in athletes.

BANG!! We could finish last 10 years running, and I'd still be buying a membership. Fairweather mofo's!!

Considering the bad publicity we got at the end of last year and the unjust bad publicity we generally get from the media in general, I consider we aren't doing that bad, poeple can't be judgmental of other members who haven't renewed.

I myself would consider not renewing my membership next year and I have been a members for 26 years, if Brad .Scott doesn't reward young players with game time.
I don't expect to much from the team as far as wins go this year but I want to see the young blokes get developed and that's how I will be judging Brad Scott.

Past issues that have been around for years such as playing older players getting games constantly who aren't deserving of a game at the expense of young players will not be tolerated, fade outs that we witnessed last Sunday that have been happening for years will not be tolerated .

These criterias are the expectation from a coach that has had more then enough time at the club.

Just imagine how many members we would have if we had one a premiership recently and we're pumped up in the media like some other clubs are I think it would be easily in the 50k region.

That's great those who would sign up no matter what etc. l'm in that boat too! The reality though is that when membership spiked at 45k there were going to be some less ardent supporters among them. There will be further decline (minus puffed up 1-3 game memberships) in the following year if on field performance is not good.
