Watched the second half of the roind 17 game against Richmond yesterday. Judging by how they finished the year we aren't a long way off. Just have to tidy up a few things. 10 wins not out if the question next year.

It's a complete waste of time going there to get away from the heat, I can tell you that.

Just checked and outlook is around 12 - 22 most days - our winter weather. Just the one 30 degree day. I suppose anything over 22 is a heat wave in Tassie!

Disappointing that the tail hasn’t wagged, however 400 should be enough to bowl at. I imagine Australia will knock a similar total, with the possibility of a result depending on the weather/how far the cracks open.

Australia only have 5 genuine batsmen and the wicket will give something to Anderson/Broad. Barring the real possibility of Smith posting a massive score, England will most likely take a first innings lead.

Cummins can bat, wouldnt be surprised if he gets a 50, Paine too. Really it is only the new ball that will cause much of a threat which has cost Warner his wicket. However, once the shine wears off and the hardness goes, the bowlers won't be able to do much.

It’s a dry heat in Tassie and doesn’t sap you like northern heat.

Yeah high humidity makes a huge difference - today was brutal.

People look at me disbelievingly but when I were a lad I actually knew it to snow twice on Christmas day in Hobart although it was way too warm for snow to settle.

Back in the day we got photos from family that xmased in Tassie that showed snow so I don't disbelieve you for a moment. The same year we sweltered on a beach at 35+ so we have very different photos next to each other

I remember one year reading that Tassie got snow in summer - albeit at higher altitudes - so wouldn't surprise me. Must be a shock for those pasty Tasmanians when they experience a QLD summer

Photo of Berry at camp tells me two things. 1. He has a fair bit to do to catch up. 2. The rest of the team look in very good nick.
I think he will be fine though but I am biased as I am a true believer in J Berry!
