Whatever the injury issue, not an ideal time to be having surgery. Especially when you are facing a make or break season.
Maybe its not an injury.
He looks to be in a normal t-shirt, so it may have just been day surgery, like an endoscopy or the like. Either way I wouldn't imagine it is anything to major, otherwise we should have heard something from the club? But then again......!

Why should the club be obligated to let us know about player welfare every time there are developments??? I would like to think they have more important things to do rather than making that a priority?

As i said, it is probably only something very minor. And therefore wouldn't expect to hear anything about it from the club.
But if it was not a minor issue, I believe we would hear something from the club.

Not sure why the club bothered telling us.
Surely they must have more important things to do.
How do you suggest they have spent the 10mins it took to tell us? Keeping supporters/media informed is a pretty core part of what they do.

Read the previous posts. I was being a Smart Ass.

He just hasnt got on the park enough unfortunately. He had 1 half decent run a few years back playing that defensive wing sweeper type role, and i thought he went pretty good, showed some good improvement over the course. Then had that run playing pretty much as a key defender due to injuries.

At this stage, there are too many questions and probably not enough time to answer them. Will be a little harder to cut players this year, some harder decisions need to be made. Paps would have to have an amazing season to save himself.

Yeah, guess it’s a sign that your rebuild is starting to pay off when you are shedding more “maybe...” type players with question marks over them compared to a bunch of players every year who were clearly not at the level.

I feel Paparone will prove he deserves to stay on an AFL clubs list this year, but don't necessarily think it'll be with the Lions. Even if his form was good, it is hard to see long term on who he'd push out due to our game style and can see him finding his way to a new club via trade.

I think paps needs to play wing or hff, he was really out of his weight class as a kpd or third tall.

He has great defensive run and reasonably good disposal. I think he is a type Fages would like, but he will be starting from a long way back.
