Know its not Lions related but sitting at Sunshine Coaat Airport with all the Dogs players. I'm about 5 metres from Josh Schache. Any messages for him?

Thanks mate. You made way for guys who really want to be here and are comitted to turning themselves and their comitted mates into a top class team. Hope Collingwood or wherever it was you ended up works out for you.

And that's enough of the schache talk. It's been all covered before no need to go over it again.

I hate to quote myself but I'm not sure what about the above wasn't clear enough for people. 10 deleted posts later. Next one gets a holiday

Answer is 'A Western Bulldogs player who started his career with the Brisbane Lions'.

Some would say Aker had the affliction of verbal diarrhea...

Speaking of Aker, who would be the closest to him on the list right now? Lewy? Maybe Witho with his kicking? Zorko obviously, and maybe Raynor might show some similar qualities with time.

We really don't have anyone close to him, though that goes for 17 other teams. For all the shit off the field he was a one of a kind on the field.

FFS....Some people just don't get it mate. I could write another post a mile long with detailed responses to the various comments about him on the last few pages, but have said most of it all before. Leave the poor bugger alone!

Can't recall if this has been posted yet but I'm only catching up on it now
Fox Footy’s crystal ball: 18 fearless predictions for the 2018 AFL season

Relevant bits for us:

LIONS IN FINALS RACE UNTIL AUGUST
IT sounds silly to make such a bold call on this season’s wooden spoon winners. But Chris Fagan is building something pretty special at the Lions.

The sage recruitment of Luke Hodge and Charlie Cameron will only enhance the club’s developing list, which includes emerging stars such as Eric Hipwood, Alex Witherden and Hugh McCluggage.

While it’s unlikely Brisbane will make the final eight, they’ll give 2018 a red-hot crack. And potentially break some hearts along the way — including their fellow Queenslanders the Gold Coast Suns, who’ll win the wooden spoon.

LION CROWNED AFL’S LATEST RISING STAR
HE showed glimpses of his potential late in 2017, but Alex Witherden will prove just how talented he is with a full 2018 campaign that will earn him the Rising Star award.

In his nine games last season, Witherden was ranked first among rising stars for average disposals, ranking points, metres gained and rebounds. He racked up at least 18 disposals in each match — an excellent achievement considering the Lions won just two of those nine games.

Expect Witherden to better those numbers in 2017 and reap the benefits of Brisbane’s much-improved on-field output.

I agree, if we can win more home games than we lose, and be competitive with the teams around us (Carlton, GC, North, etc.).
