Geez..I recall when we used to talk about football on here...I remember it fontly!!

Don't tell Billy Puller we'r talking about fonts in the non font thread, he may freak out.

Great piece this one, with Mitch Robbos struggles with injury last year.

Love these behind the scenes mini doco type videos. Beats a player standing in front of a sponsor sign for 7 minutes speaking in cliches.

Pumped to have Mitch back. There were so micro moments in games last year where we just got let down by a combination lack of experience, physical presence or the ability run out games that comes with 5+ pre-seasons. So many moments where an attacking thrust ends up being a 12 point play against us.

The potential transformative effect of four experienced, battle hardened players in Robbo, Bundy, Cameron and Hodge being injected into our side at once (along with natural improvement in our younger brigade) is perhaps being a little understated. I'm not expecting a massive ladder improvement but there are going to be longer periods of games where we look like an honest to god competitive football team that will have us pretty damn excited about the future.

I think as fans we will go into the 2018 post-season itching for more rather than the usual "thank god that's over for a while" mindset.

Yep, couldn't have said it better myself.

Hey folks, sorry about the intrusion.

My YouTube channel is running with a 'who do you choose?' series and one of our first is Zorko Vs Walters. Just thought I'd leave it here because it's the offseason still and I'm sure some of you like me are craving any sort of football action.

You can actually vote by clicking the 'i' icon that pops up in the video. Anyway, hope you enjoy!

Nice vid but it seems kinda strange being that the description says it's comparing small forwards. Zorko is a mid and hasn't been a small forward for about four years now, maybe more. In fact, it's debatable if he ever was a small forward. I'm probably biased but I just don't see Walters in the same league as Zorko. Maybe kicking freakish goals but not sure in what other measure people would pick him over Zorko.

Same when l saw they were being compared. Can't see him being close to the player Zorko is.

Yeah, good pick up, the description is probably an oversight. As for the comparison, I expect Zorko to come out on top but they are both outstanding players. I personally think Walters is underrated and is not far off in quality (but still think Zorko is better, yes).

Yeah, I think most supporters would love a player of Walters' calibre in their side. Can do the miraculous and might play more midfield over the coming seasons. Still rate our magician more highly simply because he is more versatile at this stage of their respective careers.

Walter is a very exciting prospect, no doubting that. To be compared to Zorko thou, he needs to find some real consistency through the midfield.

Zorko had a seriously cracking year last year. With his pace and his ability to find the ball and hit the scoreboard, you can start to compare his impact with other midfielders in the league, most fans would be comfortable having him in a group only behind Danger and Dusty.

On Walters there's not too many players in the league capable of those 30+possession/3+ goal games, definitely a match winner when he's on. I think a better comparison may have been Billings or Wingard. From our club perspective we're probably hoping that Charlie can bring some similar excitement like Walters has.

Anyways some decent footage of Zorko is alway great to watch, looking forward to another great year from the magician.

I apologize if this isn't the place. Didn't want to post in the fantasy thread since I don't care about their fantasy output. I was wondering how Ben Keays, Jarrod Berry, Jacob Allison, and Connor Ballenden are looking? I imagine Ballenden will be in the reserves are the others best 22? Thanks and good luck this season.

Of that list the only best 22 right now is Berry. Allison and Keays will definitely have their chances while Conor will be set for a development year with the possibility of senior action later in the year.

I actually don't mind the comparison, only because Sonny Walters played as a virtual full time midfielder last year - not unlike the way Zork plays. 20+ disposals nines times, and twice 30+ disposals in 2017. Those aren't small forward numbers.

He basically evolved to become Bennell when Harley couldn't. I only noticed because he became Supercoach relevant for the first time.

If Keays doesn’t play seniors this year, what does that mean for his career given the quality of youngsters who have been drafted since?
