* For a JLT game?I'll laugh if Keays gets picked

That's okay. I'd think they'll pick a mix. I was being facetious, but my point was, if you're a big Keays fan, then selection doesn't mean a lot, and if you're a bit negative about him, then his selection doesn't mean a lot.If they are getting close to picking a best 22. Not if just playing the kids
A round 1 team based on the above. Certainties in bold. Near-certainties in italics.
B: Hodge Andrews Rich
HB: Mayes McStay Witherden
C: Taylor Beams Robinson
HF: Christensen Walker McCluggage
F: Lester Hipwood Cameron
R: Martin Zorko Berry
I: Bastinac Mathieson Gardiner Robertson
Not sure this is how I'd line them up. But it probably goes to show that the real competition for spots is for an inside mid spot (or two), a half forward (or two) and as the 7th defender (assuming the above back 6 don't change positions).
yep and its been very difficult to get too many players delisted at the appropriate time over the last 10 yearsI guess the difference is the argument you make (not 'you' specifically, anyone). Whilst Keays hasn't set the world on fire, he actually hasn't been 'bad'. Those others you mention, have all at some time actually performed rather poorly. Some have fixed their issues, others couldn't. Not sure all of those you mentioned have come under the same sort of fire, as far as suggestions they won't make it either. Robbo for example had some chinks in his armour that were worthy of criticism, and had to be fixed for him to continue at the Lions, and has gone a long way to doing that. I don't recall any suggestion that he wouldn't be good enough.
I don't think anyone here would have an issue with posters noting Ben's weaknesses, but some have gone the extra step to conclude they are fatal flaws.
Same order for me.Want to though something out there. we all agree that these 4 players are playing for the careers in 2018
Bell
Bewick
Papparonne
Dawson
Which one would you be most confident that they can turn it around?
For me I would say bell just that he has done it at AFL level before, had a great 2015 with Carlton
next would be Papa as really believe he still has potential its just whether we can harness it
Dawson next, If we can find the right position for him maybe he can still make it
Bewick last, should never had his contract extended in 2016
Bell may get a new contract, others no chance
Most aspects of this article are pretty close to the mark.

Yeah lets tank, and get band from the next 2 drafts. Not sure about this bit- seems to be suggesting that winning games may be a bad thing.
Will wins in 2018 actually help the Lions of 2020 and beyond? Brisbane has the talent to avoid a bottom two finish for the first time in four seasons, and fans would surely be happy with that. But with a loaded draft class that looks to have a very strong top three candidates, it might be a failure if they do any better than that.

Think we will be between 13th and 15th
def ahead of Suns North and GC
Possibly ahead of Pies and Freo
Thats that compensation pick.Damn, Suns finish below us TWICE. Things are worse there than even I thought!
Lynch will be leaving the extra $1million outside of the salary cap that the AFL will throw at him as an "ambassador" to the game. So he stays but is contracted to the AFL directly. 2021 he is captain of the new side out of Hobart.I'm expecting the suns to have picks #1 and #2....free agency compo for Lynch. Can't see him staying, he will go to the bright lights of Melbourne with a good bulge in his hip pocket (will leave some on the table though). So #3 for us if we were to stink it up but am reasonably hopeful of going a little better than that this season
sorry Carl North and GCDamn, Suns finish below us TWICE. Things are worse there than even I thought!
