On the eve of the 2018 season its about time for your predictions. Slightly late this year so we'll give everyone up until the beginning of round 2 to finalise their predictions. Categories remain the same as last year but the showpiece event as usual is the ladder predictions:

All Australian Pies:

Clearly this is mostly guess work so take it for what it is.

As per last year, the "closest to the pin" for the ladder will be decided by the lowest score - a point is given for each rung away from the finishing position.
I.e. If you pick Carlton to finish 1st and they end the season in 18th, you get 17 points.
However, for each correctly tipped top 4 finish you get a bonus -10 and correct tips for the rest of the top 8 get a -5 bonus.
Prize is glory only at this stage.

- Dayne Beams will come back the Pies
- Chris Mayne will become a pretty good player
- Buckley will win 2018 AFLCA coach of the year
- Collingwood will play in 2018 Grand Final.
- Our forward line will comprise of DeGoey, WHE, Josh Thomas, and a new draftee kid we don't have on the list yet.
A VFL player will also pitch in for 26 goals in the back end of the season.

- Collingwood will win the first ever Rising Star (men’s and women’s)
- Carlton will be even worse and win the wooden spoon.

Not sure if you were taking the piss with this, but your ladder had seven of the final top eight, and Pies in the Grand Final (though by your measure we underachieved :( ) Of course, this one was also submitted three weeks into the season. All Australian Pies and Copeland relatively on point too.

My favourite though was the following one - picked all of the top six finishing near one another. The only issue was you had them nominated as teams 6 through 12!

1- Sydney
2- Geelong
3- Essendon
4- Port
5- Adelaide
6- Richmond
7- Bulldogs
8- GWS

I’m happy to admit I have NFI on pretty much everything.
