I understand you will not let me stay on here long given things are a bit testy, and I know a lot of you will be quick to jump down my throat here, but there is no way Hogan goes to WC this year. Its not a factor in any trade dealings

The only asset they have available is going to North or staying put. Pick 5 is literally worth more than their entire current draft picks and you'll be getting 5 and something else...

You will 100% get better than pick 5, my point is WC have nowhere near enough assets to satisfy you guys. They arent in it

There also isnt a list manager in the game that would give up 5 for 20,21 and 23, whatever the points say (as you have said you get)

The people who claim Tyson has a "Good kick on him" obviously are looking at him through a set of rose tinted glasses, due to him being a high draft selection.

Haha yeah, I know you two are in the ship him off bracket.

Honestly, the Freo guys that think pick 5 by itself (or that one nutter who said pick 23) are just scarred from our history with injured players and getting bent over in trades but our drafting and trading has been topnotch the last two years.

We are helped this year in that pick 5 has a lot of value to SA teams since if you look at the likely draft order Rankine is almost a lock to be there, we can get overs for pick 5 from the SA clubs who will be fighting eachother to get it. We can get 10 and 11 or 8 and 16 in a straight swap I think

If I had to bet, it will be pick 6 and 11. If we gave 5 and 6 straight up Rosich would be hung, we need that other pick to get some more young talent.

The other likely scenario would be 6 and next years first with something back - but since you guys seem intent on delisting anyone not best 22 you need picks this year.

Would be a sad indictment on the state of our game that someone with as much talent as him doesn't get picked up because he doesn't run around an chase.

No we shouldn’t, if he doesn’t do the defensive work. The modern game, as much as you mightn’t like it, requires discipline defensively from every player. One player eases up, the system/structure breaks down, other team gets the easy overlap/outnumber/goal out the back.

Honestly I don’t mind us taking an axe to the list, aside from Hogan/Kent/Vanders none of the guys we cut were best 22 nor looked likely to be a part of that in the future. Also Kent and Hogan have been given excellent deals that we can’t match and Vanders has unfortunately more than footy to think about with his situation.

I said during the VFL Grand final that it was hard to get excited about when so many of the Dees listed players out there were 2nd rate journeyman plodders. Depth is great but I need to have constant improvement. Very little was going to come out of that group.

Losing some of our best 22 is unfortunate but at least we now have an opportunity to set up our long term future.

Did you see the 3rd quarter of the grand final? He's patchy as hell but geez he was epic in that quarter. The Eagles don't win the GF without that quarter from Darling. Couldn't say he's a complete blouse. Dropped mark in the last couple of minutes didn't help though.

I did, he took some screamers throughout the game. But i couldn't help but see that every single time he was given a clear run at the ball because his man got lost.

Even Tom Boyd has had his grand moments, but I still don't rate him.
