Assuming worst case - Young? Take a chance on Kemp with his bung knee? Might be academic anyway if the Luko deal is a goer.

Young would be a great fit as well. An elite kick who would be our best kick as soon as he walks into our club. I see a bit of pendlebury about him. My only criticism of him would be his workrate. At times he drifts out of games like today.

Does anyone know if the AFL are planning to introduce the option of immediately after a player is picked, other clubs having the option to bid or trade on that specific player? If yes, is there a time frame on when this will be introduced?

Yes, Cal Twomey the draft spokesperson for the VFL has said he expects this at some point. Players only to be traded once.

Could you imagine it - Welcome to Richmond young fella :)...oh wait, you're off to the Adelaide SANFL side now for the next 2 years:sick:

TBH the whole process and with the more complex additions being tabled for the ND brings back images of the old slave markets on Zanzibar

First phantom draft ive seen for 2019 has us linked with another midget with out first pick

Is that Serong? He is a beauty. Reminds me of Toby Greene - really good overhead for his height.

Think Ash is our man though. Replaces Smith on the HBF to start with and eventually moves into the mids.

Serong? I haven't seen much of him but a lot of the draft experts have him very high up. A lot of Robbie Gray traits, and say what you want about him, Robbie is a very, very good player.

But I agree, I don't think we'll go that way after Jones and McHenry last year. Ash or Young sound more like a need, if they can go into the Midfield, we don't need another HBFer who'll "eventually be a mid", but never gets there.

Not sure who's ever said otherwise about Robbie gray, but yea doubt we would go another small flanker type

Corrected for you.

Don't think you'd say that if you stood next to Caleb at a quarter/3 quarter break [I have]....He's seriously powefull-built and as someone mentioned he's very much a Toby Greene in game style, much harder at the contest than Robbie Gray IMO, quick, agile, tough and works just as hard without the ball as when in possession....he's highly rated for a reason. Warragull/Gippsland Power lad so not a city slicker. Ranked 2nd only to Matt Rowell by Champion Data at this year's Championships and Vic Country's M.V.P at the Championships. Around 10kg's heavier than Matt Rowell who is the same height. Did I also mention he plays "tall", seriously strong overhead.

We'll have an advantage if we ever have to play at a stadium with a low roof

Read this article from Caleb's local rag and tell me you'd be disappointed if we settled on him.....and I'd say he'd be one of 2 or 3 players we'd have serious interest in given his undoubted character and leadership qualities he possesses, very switched on young man that you can be sure will strive to get the best out of himself. If Anderson is gone and with Brodie Kemp's unfortunate ACL injury it would be between Caleb Serong and Lachie Ash for me with Pick 3.

Not against that, where does he go in the draft and surely we would try and trade down?
Pick 1 GC Rowell
Pick 2 GC Anderson
Pick 3. Melbourne Ash/Young/Kemp
Pick 4. GWS Ash/Young/Kemp
Pick 5. GWS Green bid matched/
Pick 6 Sydney Ash Young Kemp
Pick 7 Adelaide Serong

We would be pick 4 unless we or Melbourne bid for Green (If GC get a priority pick after their first).
