I must admit I was a little pissed off when my club went with McDonald with DGB on the board. I am starting to warm to McDonald but after Phillips (who I wanted most of all) I really wanted DGB. I think he is going to be a great player for you guys.

Finally bringing in genuine explosive speed instead of in betweeners like morris, walker, ross etc.

Here's hoping they can step up to the next level. At least they've got the tools.

It is funny everyone wanted a mid, I said in a post we have many holes to fill, not like a FB and small Fwd only spots to fill in, they should listen to me less. Our 2nd pick was abit of a surprise, clearly they did not want to take a midfielder in Carroll. Everyone said we could do with more. Everyone here wanted Ford, hopefully the club have done their homework on the small forwards just like Poupolo.

Don't know if it has been said but by Christ $ydney got a sweet ride with frigging North not making them choose between McDonald and Campbell. I guess that's what you get from being on the AFL drip.

To some people Hawthorn can do wrong. Funny that, we've never made mistakes with picks. Perfect recrod.

Can you name a club that has never made a mistake and have a perfect record?

FFS Carltank have had 256 number 1 draft picks and f’ed up 254 of them.

I’m really happy with what we did last night.
We got a gun tall, much needed speed and no bids on Downie before our 2nd pick was a huge bonus.

Looked like we might have pulled the trigger a bit early on Mitchell but we obviously like the kid and he did have a lot of interest from other clubs apparently. It’s also a good reminder that we don’t know what FA or trade targets we have in mind for other positions that need addressing next year.

My take is that we weren’t quite as in love with McDonald as some, otherwise we would have made the pick swap with North to get pick 2. Instead we’ve jagged DGB (who I personally think is a safer bet) and increased our draft hand next year. Great work Hawks!

Great night - great result. Loving the speed needs we gave targeted. Adding another 2021 2nd rounder is also a great and underrated addition.
