Fair enough, tbh bit surprised it's not a natural progression we see more often from young qb's, when I first saw the tweet I thought, 'meh, isnt that what he's supposed to be doing?'

The fact he's improved his accuracy without a preseason this year or getting time to gel with Diggs speaks volumes of the work hes put into it by himself imo. ( His decision making has improved a lot too)

Almost like rookies deserve opportunities to developing.

Almost...

For all the shit I gave Josh he at least had a game every now and then to make you sit up and take notice.

Even in bad situations, qbs of the future give you a glimpse. Rosen never did.

Its a chicken or egg thing. Do QBs need to be developed or is it just up to them to acclimate, memorize the playbook, etc. QBs like Wentz were developed well because they had a good HC/QB coach, but then go to shit for some reason — fat pay check, lose the fire, werent that good really the scheme made them look better. And there are QBs who got all the devolpment in the world and just never made it despite being top shelf college pro style QBs even, like Rosen. And there are QBs like Marino or Mahomes who were just uber talented and wouldve made it regardless, but a lot of people rated them low or didnt think theyd amount to anything.

It certainly does ones head in cos theres no staple stat or path.

Didnt really explain what happened to him, why he didnt make it in the NFL. He was on a lot of NFL rosters, and even couldnt crack a start in the XFL. It has to be mental...couldnt get a playbook memorized, game too fast or too big for him in the pros, too much for him to absorb. I saw that downside in him against Alabama, an NFL caliber college team, and he melted under pressure, even before the snap

The GMs mustve saw something tho....

A bunch of them passed on Rosen, he slid. John Dorsey passed on Darnold who was touted higher than Mayfield. Even Gettleman passed on Darnold. A bunch of them passed on Haskins too.

Haskins reason reported was maturity issues and that's come to bear. Rosen reason reported was also maturity issues, and tho we didnt see that as such, perhaps we did, Rosen self-entitled and pouted and probably passed blame on to players around him behind the scenes. And as much as Gase sucks, I've watched plenty of Darnold this year and he truly is regressing, just panics and throws god awful passes, makes awful decisions, Flacco being playing better than him and Flacco is over the hill and also has Gase saddling his shoulders.

I can't explain Josh Rosen tho.

From the film in the nfl he locks onto receivers and struggles with his timing on throws. Was always late on throws to players coming out of a break in their route. No anticipation. Made it far too easy for defenses.

Probably all psychological. perceived pressure/seeing ghosts after playing behind that dreadful Arizona oline in his rookie year . Also, scared to take risks and make mistakes, put too much expectation to perform on himself through his outlandish arrogance in the interviews on draft day.

Yep, Darnold needs a lot of work to fix. So many terrible habits have snuck into his game. Could already be too far gone. :(

Didn't he have some concussion issues in college? Watching what is happening with Wentz, wouldn't surprise me too much to find out concussions are playing a big role in these otherwise talented players regressing so badly.
He did, youre right. Maybe like ADP said, seeing ghosts and stuff worrying about getting hurt. That was also a knock on him, too skinny or an injury waiting to happen.

409 yards and 8 touchdowns rushing in a single game is a decent day against any opposition... 😳

Very low center of gravity, doesnt go down easy, but most of those yards and TDs were all the OL and TE/Hback blocking, opening huge holes

About the only reason there is a shred of hope for Jones...

That being said, gonna claim the support for Allen from day one, despite the lows 😓

Jones has had a curious 2020. Started regressing first month or so, then started steadily improving the last month or so.

No, gotta give "the best RB in NFL history after Jim Brown" at least 40 carries a game

As long as he targets the endzone, I guess.

Exactly...25 carries to the best running back in the NFL

15 carries to the second best back in the NFL

15 passes targeting the endzone

Browns 35
Ratbirds 20

Final

USC QBs should be a red flag to NFL recruiters. Carson Palmer was the last decent one and he wasn't without his turnover issues.
