Squad depth. Our best 22 should look good enough to be quite competitive but if injury hits we are in real problems on field
+ we will be playing more players under 50 games, which will mean more inconsistency... but also less giving up after half time.

The point is we basically gave away one of our most influential players for unders. Good teams don't do this!

He can't easily be replaced in the short term & he will be missed as he was our most influential defender when we were playing our best football last year. We had too many lockdown types, so we trade away our tall defender who intercepts, creates & uses the ball thr best.

If we play Talia, Hartigan & Kelly in the same side after trading out Keath for peanuts, I'm going to be very annoyed!
See I think he can be replaced easily enough, but would be naive to think someone would come in and do the role to the same standard immediately.

I'm a little bit in the same vein with those 3, but given the environments Nicks has come from and their attacking rebounders I don't think that will be the case. It's worth noting Keath wasn't an attacking defender either, he took the safe option by foot a lot...... just his footskills are better.

Reckon we will see a bit of Worrell, Butts and McAsey.

I hope we do see a fair bit of McAsey. One of his most obvious traits was his ball use for a bloke his size. Super impressive.

I really like Worrell, however i’d be surprised if he gets a game next year on merit. Standing next to McAsey while he’s of similar height he looks he needs another year or so in the gym

Lever did too though.

Wouldn't surprise me if we tried to find a spot for him for a few games. Seems to be able to play everywhere.

Time will tell as we have just had a big clear out of older players
You're right. We should have given CEY, Keath and Greenwood 4 year deals and signed Sauce up for a couple more 🙄
Why waste your time arguing. If we had kept those guys, we would have no idea what we are doing with our list, are too old and don't know how to rebuild. If we cut even more senior players than we have we would still have no idea what we are doing, would be too young and destined to become the Gold Coast Suns. Then there's what we've actually done and we've still got no idea about list management, drafted spuds and are gonna be shit for all eternity. Save your energy and don't engage fuxkwits.

Oh someone who has worked it out, yes we have moved on dead wood who have been pretty handy having taken us a GF, which we should have won, unfortunately the drafting hasnt replaced them, its really not that hard

Maybe the youth coming through will take us to a flag maybe it wont, time will tell wont it, I have hope in about two players in Fog and Milera, more so Fog, having what it takes to be dominant the rest I see as honest tries which some will succeed and some will fail as is the case with drfatees over 50% fail, just got to get enough of the ones that succeed, thats what hey get paid the big bucks to do

No, it's funny how posters talk down a player after they have left the club... pretending that it will minimise our loss.

Keath will way out perform anyone we play at CHB. Bookmark it.

How many of our players made the team of the week last year many times?
I know you were over the top about keeping him during the trade period (even though he's a 28 year old in a replaceable position), but most posters seemed reasonably fine with him going and are saying the same things now that they did then.

I would have been fine if we kept him, but also I know we can't have too many late career players holding down spots in a rebuilding side.

There have been posters saying Keath will be easily replaced... so I'm hardly making it up. He will be missed & imo given we traded him away for buggar all, should have traded Hartigan instead.
Hartigan will leave after this year, when his contract is finished and McAsey has had a year.

If we'd traded Hartigan last year - somehow - we would have re-signed Keath for four years and stuffed the staggered rebuild.

This mCasey boy to take over after a year???

What will we be putting him on Winstrol or Dianabol

You cant be serious

It’s amusing watching you change your position to back the club in, the other day you said the trade was right. This is what you said during the trade period
That's completely worthless. Let GCS take him in the PSD.

A pick in the 40s is garbage, and almost certain to amount to nothing. If the Western Bulldogs can't come up with the pick to get a player they've made an offer to, that needs to start beiytheir problem, not ours.
Earlier you argued he wasn’t a KPD, this is what you said back then:

I'm not sure who Keith is.

20 would get you Alex Keath, MAYBE, considering he is a key position defender who was in All Australian form.

Kane McGoodwin perhaps you could ask Kristof the Apologist to unblock me for a second to answer for his changing position.

I've come right around on Worrell too. I think he's one of those blokes that could line up nearly anywhere and have an impact. Wouldn't surprise me to see him in the top side a lot earlier then expected.

I just wrote the exact same thing. He's not talked about much but Justin Westoff has always been a very annoying matchup in the showdowns. The kind of guy that's strangely skilled for his size, too mobile for most KPD, and too big and good at marking for small defenders. But also has the tank to play wing or drop behind the ball as an interceptor.

I would love to have Worrell play a role like that for us. And at 195cm and with his athletic traits I could see him being able to pull it off.

Is Mego Red Kristof?

As I said yesterday, it's funny how some posters minimise the impact of losing a player once they have gone... & some do complete 180's!

Mego Red - Elite Crow (who I gather you have blocked) pulled out some of your quotes before trade period which are contrary to your position after the trade:

Mego Red said on the Keath trade:

I'm not sure who Keith is.
