What's a generic freak?

Very looking forward to seeing what stacevich can do this year looks an absolute generic freak in some of this pics . Could easily see him getting a time as a lockdown defender or half forward . Has super pace , agility and from reports did well in 3km time trial aswell .
If he has a full pre season I expect him to be well in the frame for Round 1.

It's weird having so much talent developing in the reserves after so many years of blooding kids before they're ready.
Yeah! In particular I think, Cedric Cox, Brandon Starcevich, Ely Smith and Deven Robertson will all be well in the frame for Round 1 but will be up against more mature players such as McCarthy, Christensen, Birchall, CEY, Mathieson and Ah Chee. I'd love to see those younger guys push out some of the older players by the end of next season and cement their place in our best 22.

I know I'm late to the party but thank you as always for the photers Rip... just makes it feel very real being so far bloody far away. They're awesome as always!

It's been a very long time since you could scroll through so many pics and struggle to find a player that you wonder if they'll make it. This list genuinely looks like it can contend for years to come... and it's not until pics like these that show you how far the "fringe" players have come that make you realise that.

I have to keep telling myself it's not 2016...

Went along to training on Tuesday afternoon. Thankfully was a lot cooler than expected.
Only getting back into photography recently again, so a lot of my shots are out of focus/wrong settings. Got slightly better towards the end, and hopefully early next year I'll be able to get to Mr Ripper 's level.

A bit scrappy in skills, but lots of chatter and talk among the boys. The young players are pushing the senior players to improve. I couldn't see Robinson out there, and Christensen didn't take part in any drills, but did pose for a photo. They did injury prevention at the start of the session, before some sprints & kicking drills. I'll add more details soon.

What is "injury prevention"...stretching routines?

What is "injury prevention"...stretching routines?

don't know in this case but usually its a lot of muscle activation exercises, so those ones where you see them walking with bands around their legs in different activities. The movement restriction means that you target specific muscle movements so that they're activated and warmed up when you go to start running. Helps prevents muscle tears which occur when muscles aren't warmed up, as opposed to stretched. Stretching before exercise can actually decrease performance and increase possible injuries (admittedly this point is debated a bit) as stretching is actually stretching out the muscle and creating small tears. Its good for after exercise though.

Yeah they usually do a few different exercises involving bands.
