Couldn't agree more...one of the reasons I detest reference to players as "duds" and "list cloggers" etc. At the end of the day, all of our players are young men with feelings and emotions and families and loved ones, all trying to do their very best and play out their dream of being an AFL player at the Lions.

I totally agree, I did some number last year or the year before when people were tearing strips off some players - It went something like this - of all the people who play Aussie rules each year only .4 of a % make it to an AFL list. There sure must be a lot of 'list cloggers' if thats accurate.

Pretty sure 99.99% of us nuffies would love to clog a list for even 1 year.

even the worst player to ever be on a list would make me look like a fool.

supercoach questions

1. Most impressive rookies?
2. Injury list and who is in recover?
3. Positional chances?

1. choccie Neale
2. We don't get injured, just hibernate
3. Zorko will be a ruck in 2020

2. Fagan (Hammy) currently doing skills work, should be back running with the main group in Tassie camp.

Was disappointed to hear about fages injury, but given his work ethic I suspect he will be back to his best and lead the league in emotional post-win field storming again this year

Can anyone see Brandon Starcevich forcing his way into the best 22 in his 3rd season? He's ultra competitive and hard at the contest, he could become an ideal replacement for Robinson on the wing in a few years. In the meantime I wouldn't be surprised if he plays a lot of senior footy this year as a utility of sorts playing multiple different positions including HB and midfield. I'm still quite bullish on Starc.

Athletically Starcevich is gifted but it is his decision making and kicking that needs to improve. Unless we have an injury to our back six I can’t see him in the side at the start of the season.

Got down for the last half hour of training, just as the team started full field match practice.

Harris, Archie and CEY doing ropes and weights in rehab. Looked like Allison on the stationary bike, and Marcus Adams doing laps.

Having not seen the boys for a few weeks, I found it harder to instantly identify a lot of players.

It looked like it was random teams, nothing to read in to who was on which team.

Ballenden has a good pair of hands, is a beautiful kick, and looked good. He was showing a lot of good game awareness. Marked the ball at one stage on a wing with his back towards the boundary line, and gave off a handball over his left shoulder to a flanker running past.

Coleman played small forward, Skinner was playing in defence with Eagles for one team, Ah Chee hbf. Didn’t notice Birchall. Rich, Cox and Prior playing in defence on respective teams.

We have a lot of good kicks now with our small and medium defenders. Going to be a lot of competition for places.

Corey Lyons seemed to find a lot of ball inside, and stood out because of that. Mathieson’s kicking lets him down.

They were playing a lot of switching from the back pocket, getting numbers out on the fat side, over lapping and kicking to unmarked players.

After training was finished. Rich, Coleman, Cox and Allison (I think) were doing some running and sprint drills with one of the coaches.

On the other side of the field, Oscar, Neale, Robertson, Ely and McCluggage were doing some stoppage or centre bounce work. Neale was coaching Robertson, against Ely and McCluggage.

McCluggage, Neale and Robertson left after about 15 minutes, leaving Oscar and Ely working with a couple of the coaches on tap work, receiving the tap and handballing out.

And Fagan was doing his normal walking and jogging around the boundary. His limp wasn’t as noticeable.

Berry said it was Adams' preparation away from the field that allowed him to do so well despite the setbacks.

"He's one of the most professional blokes that I've come across in terms of looking after his body, eating well, hydrating and doing his weights," Berry said.

"He's a monster in the gym.

"Marcus is one of the thickest blokes I've seen. He's thick with two c's."

:tearsofjoy:

Thanks for the great summary. Could you tell if Archie, Harris and cey are in the rehab group for anything in particular or are they just being rotated through?

Really couldn’t say sorry.

I’m pretty sure Harris and Archie were in the rehab group before the Christmas break, on one of the Wednesday afternoon sessions I went to.

All good, thanks anyway! I'll keep my fingers crossed - given I haven't read about any major issues with any of them hopefully it's nothing for us to worry about

Could anyone have replied to my posts yesterday just to say yes training was on this morning and where?

Far out. Is it a secret or something?

I drove down on the chance it was on. I didn’t know if it was at Yeronga or Coorparoo.

I’ve driven down before and there’s been no training.

I’m definitely not in the know. I just took a punt.
