With Lobb going down.. Meek to UTIL becomes a plan. Can see us Playing Darcy (when he is fit which might be a couple rounds in IMO) and Meek together. Darcy isnt the worst Ruck who can sit fwd a bit.

If Flynn isnt playing Rnd1.. Meek to R3

I like this, my only issue is with your last line. Unfortunately with the Dockers playing a 1.45pm Saturday game we won’t know if Flynn is playing round 1 until after that game has started (in fact probably finished) because GWS have a Sunday game and the Sunday teams won’t drop until late Saturday arvo

So it’s probably a case of playing Meek at R3 and picking Flynn as the utility... that way if Flynn isn’t named there might still be rookie options (on any part of the field) from the remaining Saturday night and Sunday games that you can swap him to, whereas if he’s R3 and Meek has already played as your utility then you won’t have that option.

The other alternative is that you just pick Flynn irrespective of whether he plays round 1 knowing that he should play soon after and you won’t need to burn a trade getting him in when he does.

True.. bloody rolling announcements. I'd run with the former and give Flynn the flick for any rookie playing in that UTIL spot.

Yeah that’s my plan too unless the other options are rubbish/non existent. I’m old school and want as many green dots as possible in round 1

I just can't trust any ruck over $200K except Max this year.
The game style looks to have changed that the 50+ hitout games could be a thing of the past.

I'm going to to with Gawn, Meek and Flynn.

I think the popular mid price options might be OK but I think players like Nank and Witts will avg around the 90 mark, making it a difficult trade up as you will leave it to be a final upgrade.
If you look at other lines at players priced at their price ranges, I feel far more confident that they will score better than a ruckman this year.

My thinking is that Meek and Flynn will play enough games between them to cover R2 and both make around $200k before the byes. I can then asses who is the best to either trade up to or jump on Pruess when he returns.

I know a lot of people will jump on Witts after tonight but in the year he averaged 104, he was averaging 46 hitouts a game and only 15 possessions. I think he will drop 15-20 hitouts a game this year!!

Currently have Gawn & ROB and whilst they weren't overly convincing on the weekend, their first up opponents (Gawn v Meek & ROB v Blicavs?) should see Gawn/ROB the top 2 Rucks from round 1.

Witts gets a lot of his points from hitouts but will be up against Naitanui (for 60% of the game anyway)

Grundy will have a battle on his hands against Stef Martin & English.

Tempted to get Witts and upgrade Rowell.

ROB & Rowell vs Witts & Bont/Pendles.

I have this weird feeling English is going to be much better this year with Stef taking most of the ruck

Frees him up to float all around the ground and take heaps of marks up forward which he's very good at. Utility is clearly his best role, like peak Westhoff, but probably a lot better

This does concern me now paying that much for Gawn when he only rucked for 59% and Jackson took 52% centre bounces on the weekend. Could very well have just been resting him and testing Jackson, or is this what we can expect a more 50/50 split with the reduced interchange?

Gawn priced at 123, you’d want to be confident he’s doing the bulk of the work I think. At that price I just don’t think I can do it. I like going a Witts/Nank and seeing how it plays out I think

Probably very likely, he has been in my team at some point the last two years, so he’s very due 😅🤦‍♂️

I love witts' value but jeeeesus he has a tough start to the year. Nic Nat, Goldstein, ROB, Pitt, English and Stef, Hickey, Grundy and then it gets a bit easier. Should go well against Pitt and Hickey, but other than that it's pretty tough.

Someone talk me back into him pls

I might go over his scores v those opponents soon and check them out

I love that he’s priced at 80 and gone 104, huge value. Last 9 in 2019 he averaged 112
